This is something that could go in the off-topic thread but since I made this realization while watching the network i'll put it here.

        Does anyone miss the bodyslam?

I mean, you really don't see that anymore as a transition to a higher impact move. You'd think that with WWE pushing the "safer is better" approach that you'd see that used a little more. I actually think the bodyslam as a move has always been a great way to bridge from high impact sequence to a more mat based sequence or vice versa. The seeming absence of that move makes it more clear that matches these days just transition from high spot to high spot without any kind of connective tissue which is what the bodyslam provided.

Of course, maybe I haven't watched enough of the current product to notice that it's still around but in my viewings I haven't seen it.

I miss rest holds. So many matches I'll be sitting there thinking, "headlock, slow it down." Matches on Raw feel like watching someone play WWE 2K a lot of time.

Cena is one guy that comes to mind, he just sits/stands in the ring with a blank look on his face in between moves. Grab a rest hold

Problem is rest holds don't have to be rest holds. Bret Hart could rest hold the whole match but he would use different rest holds on the same part of the body, making it look like he was dissecting it.

I wish wrestling matches were scripted smarter in that regard. Now that you mention it, I haven't noticed many jump overs and lay down on the grounds when irish whipping someone into the ropes either.

I marked out for Austin. For a moment, I thought it was going to a match because HBK had his attire on. But then I was like, "damn, Austin has his jeans on."

I agree completely with this. I don't know if it's a fear that doing that kind of thing would elicit boos or what but I think the trainers are doing a disservice by not making this kind of thing more of a part of what makes a wrestling match.

Going back to your favorite wrestling matches, I have to place another match as number one. As great as the Warrior/Hogan match was, Pillman vs. The Pencil was the greatest match I have ever seen. I thought Pillman had a shot, but the pencil was too much to overcome.

What is a good starting point to start watching Raws in the 2000s?

So looks like we are finally getting Smackdown again. Yesterday an episode of Smackdown 2000 was uploaded, which means that they're coming.
