Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I'll say this, as far as entrance music goes...there were a LOT of great ones during 2004-05.
Kane, Edge, Batista(Walk Alone), Orton, Both of Cena's, Evolution, Shelton Benjamin. The list goes on and on#RespectTheCultureComment

From a business standpoint I can understand it, they're front loading as much of the "Big Selling Point" footage as much as they can so there's a subscriber base and THEN throw in the classic archive material.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

If I was watching Wrestling in 2004-05, I would've legit hated Triple H back then. He was so great as a heel then, I don't see how I could've liked him in any way.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Just some random thoughts, nothing in particular.
-Early 90's WCW I found to be better many aspects. The actual wrestling I thought was better than WWF and they treated wrestling like it was an actual sport, while WWF was about entertainment. WCW had weekly rankings, weight classes, agreements with NJPW which sent WCW stars overseas and and vice versa. They also had tournaments and had many good concepts that they just couldn't hit a homerun on for some reason. I was a big fan of Wargames, Lethal Lottery and even Spin the Wheel Make the Deal.
-In that regard, I would also like to point out that at times they made it too much like a sport and took the entertainment out of it (especially in the Watts era.) You couldn't throw them into the barricade, no moves off of the top and they always had that stupid rule that you couldn't throw people over the top rope which made Steamboats skin the cat look stupid. I mean, just fall down and take the W.
-Presentation wise, I personally liked the gritty atmosphere of WCW broadcasts. I like the simple sets, the actual ramp to the ring and I thought Jim Ross and Jesse Ventura were great as a commentary team.
-I have pretty much watched all that WCW and WWFE have to offer as I have been a fan for 27 years. I am going to start binge watching ECW since i I only checked them out a few times in '98 and '99. I heard 1995 is a good year for ECW so I will probably start there.NFL- Green Bay Packers

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I loved early 90s WCW, they had a ton of talent on their roster but they just didn't seem to know what to do with it all. WWF seemed to me like it took place in an alternate universe, where nothing happened outside of the company and the gimmick was the only thing you knew about wrestlers, but I loved how Jim Ross would tie in other stuff about their backgrounds, like where they went to college or how Mike Rotundo was a finalist in the punt pass kick competition when he was a kidComment

Batista's entrance during his WHC >>>>>>>
I'm loving 2005 so far, especially with the Brand Split and each show getting their own PPVs.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Right now I am killing it with ECW. The shows are only forty five minutes long so in two days ive gone through two months. The first pay per view is in July and I am at March. Just got the news that Eddie Gilbert passed. Totally forgot that he died in 1995.Last edited by PeoplesChampGB; 05-07-2016, 07:29 PM.NFL- Green Bay Packers

I have to ask how long you have been a fan because it seems like you missed so much.

I just wish they uploaded ALL the Raws/Smackdowns for those years so we can see the proper buildup for each feud. Right now, I have no choice but to go thru each PPV for the year.#RespectTheCultureComment

I personally don't see why people say the Attitude Era was so adult oriented. I think the Ruthless Aggression era was more adult oriented and went past the Attitude Era in almost all aspects.NFL- Green Bay Packers
