Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
The old content is basically the biggest draw for them on the network. You buy for the current stuff, but stay for the old content.
Though it'd be nice if we could get these things on DVD too. If WWE sold DVD boxsets containing every year of Raw(like how TV shows have ones for each season) I'd buy abunch of them(97-04 at the very least).Last edited by Majingir; 07-29-2017, 03:06 PM.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I have been on a run of watching year 2000-era (Russo years) WCW and I still do not understand how Jeff Jarrett became a main eventer.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
What amazes me about 2000 in WCW is how truly bad Russo was in those backstage skits and on the mic in general. Just a godawful actor and character. People want to bail him out and say he didn't kill WCW, but his on-camera work alone killed Nitro to a large extent.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
It's mainly because of who his father is. The nepotism is strong in the Jarrett household. I know it's not something people of our generation and younger think about but Jerry Jarrett was a pretty powerful guy as a booker and general wrestling mind especially in Memphis. My comments are more geared toward the TNA run but i'm sure Russo had a thing for him too as they seem to be of a similar personality type.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I tried to be cool in my AJ Styles gear I got at Smackdown on the 4th and do his wide arms thing. I punch myself in the chin and nearly pulled a pectoral.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
He was a good worker and an okay talker. He must have been one of those guys that Russo had a thing for. I can remember watching TNA in the late 2000s wondering the same thing. Seemed like he was always main eventing or wrestling against all the top guys.

World Heavyweight Champion Bret Hart (couldn't work because of his concussion)
Scott Hall (couldn't work because... drunk)
Kevin Nash (couldn't work because his quads would explode on contact)
US Champion Jeff Jarrett
Scott Steiner
They basically had to scrap the whole storyline because of Hart (who was never a good fit) and his concussion. Add in that Goldberg wasn't appearing, Hogan was appearing, and they brought in Sid, who was a disaster. It was the beginning of the end.Favorite Teams:

I think more than anything it was because of how he left WWE. Russo was just starting with WCW and Jarrett fit the chosen one gimmickComment

And why the hell is archive footage not being uplaoded, more importantly. Like classic 90's home videos?Mets/Giants/Knicks/Rangers/Manchester United/Notre Dame Football

These are two different complaints. 90's home video? Nowhere to be found, but they're absolutely uploading archive footage. This most recent round is WWECW, WCCW, and a few Philadelphia Spectrum and Boston Garden house shows.Comment

If you believe anything Meltzer says, which I tend not to, they are nowhere near making as much money as they did last year and they promised increased profits this year so they're cutting backComment
