1994 WWF. This right here is why I will never bitch about Vince too much, even though the current product is too slick and severely lacking in fun. Dude is sitting there on commentary playing along and having fun with this ridiculous baseball character. Because pro wrestling is suppose to be ridiculous and fun.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Lol, watching raw in 98 and heard them mention internet fans. Basically sounds like fans weren't seeing humour in Goldusts messed up gimmick. Even had to tell fans that Dusty found Goldusts parody of the American dream to be funny, since "internet geeks" might've found it in bad taste.
Guess this internet wrestling fan stuff has gone on forever.
On that note, what was up in February 98? No way out felt thrown together randomly, raw after it aired on Saturday and didn't cover much, and neither did following raw. Nation stuff was still good during that, but no DX during this, one mini Austin promo, and Kane just attacked time fillers. Did something happen that caused this stuff?Last edited by Majingir; 11-16-2017, 11:57 PM.Comment

Didn’t really seem thrown together outside of the main event and the Bradshaw/Jeff Jarrett NWA match and that one wasn’t even thrown together if I’m remembering right since they had Cornette and Jarrett’s NWA stable that Bradshaw’s partner at the time Barry Windham turned on him joining the stable. Everything else had a legit build or feud behind it...except that random *** Taka match, but they were still trying to make him and the Light heavyweight title a thing so you see where that was coming from. The main event would have been great had Shawn not been hurt.
Kane attacking people was still building him up because Undertaker wasn’t “back” yet to stand up to him. DX was scarce because of Shawn’s injury and thus the lack of Austin because his opponent wasn’t there. Can’t really build up his big title match without the champion.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Man, I think the true root of Cornette's hatred of Russo was that NWA thing. Russo outplayed him by letting him do that, knowing it was gonna fail and VKM would push Cornette out of the loop for good. But Cornette was so blinded by his own ego and pride for that 1980s NWA stuff that he let himself look foolish.Comment
