Raw before wm14, Kane sets that stage guy on fire, Taker cuts promo dressed in almost regular clothes in graveyard, rock VS Austin as throwaway match!

Post Mania 19 Raw, Goldberg challenges Rock to a match, claiming he’s next. Post Mania Smackdown Sable returns and confronts Torrie over her playboy cover. Those were your big returns on each show. Safe to say Raw wins like always.

In fairness to Smackdown, two of its biggest names on their roster did get hurt(Lesnar and Angle)and weren’t available that night. So I’m guessing that played a factor and not really fair to call it that show’s big return.

But otherwise, it’s not like they closed out Smackdown since they still had McMahon/Hogan to fall back on.

Yea both were good shows, no doubt. Just was stating in terms of big debuts the week after Mania, Raw won it in my eyes. And plans may have been different had Lesnar/Angle been were there but probably not, IMO, because the setup for the next #1 contender is a tournament.

Lol, just an example of "the more things change, the more they stay the same," I was watching a match from WWF Superstars from 1996, and it had Vince on play-by-by with Mr. Perfect and Jim Ross on color. A 3 man booth for a Saturday morning syndicated Superstars show. Because it totally needed that in 1996.

Bautista’s entrance with the pyro and music...best entrance as a whole by far in the WWE during the mid 00s.

                  Agreed.

Underrated entrance from that era: MVP

Agreed huge fan of Batista. Really hope that report of him coming back is true and Vince brings him back.

I think Edge had the best entrance during that time.

Power rankings for that time frame.

                        1) Edge

                        2) Kane

                        3) Batista

                        4) Rey Mysterio

                        5) Eddie Guerrero

                          Kane, Batista, Edge, Orton, Benoit.

The first 3 are in no particular order. I couldn’t stand Mysterio’s garbage reggaeton entrance.[emoji1475]

Not that one. His debut one was fire at the time.

Finally at wm14. Just from the start, for all the bad performances people give for anthems at major events, this one by the DX band was horrible. Actually got booed big time.

HBK VS Austin had like 5 DQ spots in it lol. HHH attacks him and ref doesn't end match. HBK hits Austin with drum set and ref lets it go.

Funny foreshadowing, a fan had a "Steph, know your role" sign. Obviously done for a friend, but given Steph and rocks eventual history, this was funny seeing before she was even on tv, and know your role wasn't as popular yet.

Finally got around to watching Wrestlemania X-8, the following Raw and Smackdown and the Draft on the following Raw. Just a fun two weeks of programming to go back and watch again. Haven't seen either of these shows since they aired live so some great memories. Brock Lesnar's debut was amazing. I'd completely forgotten how he came on the scene. Just a vicious assault on everybody in sight especially poor Spike Dudley. I felt every one of those powerbombs for that man lol. And I know it was a WM crowd and Canadian crowd on top of it, but Vince McMahon the night after Wrestlemania was the very definition of nuclear heat. Insane how good he is at being a heel.
