If they had a special for the non commercial version I’d jump all over it, even if it’s more than $10Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Until the archived stuff goes up, might as well pay mainly just for the live part of the network.
WM alone would be worth the $10 of the ad filled network.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Some more WMs to go through.
WM6 starts with Goulet singing the Canadian anthem.
They actually had a squash match at WM. How do you have Hart Foundation at WM in Canada and their match goes on for 10 seconds?
Not sure I buy the 67,000 fans in attendance, we all know Jays sold out is 50,000, but what an event regardless.
Hogan vs Warrior in the main event. We all know how this one ends. Fans were split in this one.
WM7, what a star filled show!
Mean Gene with Regis and Trebek! Also had Macauley Culkin, Chuck Norris and The Fonz!
Gene: I'm here with my longtime friend Alex Trebek.
Alex: Thanks Jim.
Gene: It's Gene.......
Regis interviews were funny since he was carrying the entire segment since he was interviewing people who don't talk. Was almost a 1 man show and he pulled it off.
Too bad we never had a Piper/Trebek segment. So much potential with Pipers "just when you think you have all the answers, I change the question!". But Jake and Trebek was fun.
Macho King (with Sherri) vs Ultimate Warrior in a career vs career match, with Miss Elizabeth (as a "commoner") in the crowd. This felt like a main event match. Warrior wins, Sherri turns on Macho King afterwards, Miss Elizabeth with the save and they're reunited, a true WM moment.Comment

And since the on demand library won't be so good for most of those 4 months, might as well pay for the ad filled version to start, while getting it at that low price of just $2.50 a month! If money for a slice of pizza isn't worth getting the network, then nothing will be.Last edited by Majingir; 03-12-2021, 10:49 PM.Comment

The live shows won't have extra ads. The on demand content will. It would be like watching youtube videos, except these ads I'm sure will be played before watching any video, not randomly in the middle.

Oh I know, I was joking. I subscribed for ad free Peacock when they moved the rights to The Office over. So I’m set.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
WM10 is one of the all time classic WMs ever mainly just for 3 matches (rest of the card was actually more of a dud), Bret vs Owen (greatest opening match in WM history), HBK vs Razor and Bret vs Yokozuna (which has one of the best closing shots in WM history). The WWF logo from this time period was short lived, and feels weird seeing shows with this logo, but I like it.
Show kicks off with Little Richard signing America the Beautiful. Another one of the best renditions I've heard in any sporting event.
Bret vs Owen in the opening is so good. One of the matches that holds up after almost 3 decades! Fits modern wrestling so much. I love that opening shot of Brets entrance in the MSG entrance way. Simple yet looks so cool.
Of course the HBK/Razor ladder match was great. Has anyone had their pants pulled down more in wrestling history than HBK? I only recently found out that it was Michaels idea for Razor to climb back up the ladder after the match in what ended up being one of the most iconic shots in WM history.
Main event with Yokozuna vs Bret with Piper as the ref! Burt Reynolds as the ring announcer was ok I guess. He needed pages of papers just for the ring announcement. Bret wins, all the good guys come out and celebrate, and Owen comes out, continuing to be in the shadows of Bret.Comment

What logo are you talking about being short lived?

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
The Bret/Owen match was good but I actually like their Summerslam match better. That’s probably my favorite cage match, very little of the spots you typically see in cage matches where guys struggle to crawl out a cage door or climb up and out the cage.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
It does fit modern wrestling in the sense that it holds up extremely well athletically, but that level of storytelling is a thing of a bygone era unfortunately. It's live event wrestling vs TV wrestling.Comment

(Bottom left in the bottom pic, the top right I think was the 80s/early 90s logo)
Its just a recoloured version of the 80s logo, but I haven't seen that specific version used for very long.Comment
