Speaking of vault footage, one bit of footage I never knew existed is some taped segment with Bruce Campbell that was supposed to air during the "McMahon Appreciation Night" that obviously got cancelled because of Benoit.

He said he had already filmed the segment in the arena but everything got shut down (for obvious reasons).

Makes me wonder what was filmed in that segment, but even moreso, just how much footage exists of what was supposed to air that night. Not that a single bit of it will ever be made public (even Netflix getting the original footage of JR/King announcing Owens death and the original Benoit tribute episode footage was surprising to see, not that you can't find those online, but WWE has obviously scrubbed those from the network). It was literally hours before Raw went on the air, and everyone who was supposed to be at that show was there (I've heard Austin and even Vince's brother were gonna be on the show). Wouldn't be surprised if people filmed speeches ahead of time for that episode too.

Crazy thing is you could argue that Marty Jannetty was the most unstable dude on screen there IRL lol.

1996 Survivor Series shows just how bad things were and everyone before their known gimmicks.

That 96 match alone, Holly before being Hardcore, James before Road Dogg, Billy before NAO/DX, Bradshaw before APA, Sultan before Rikishi.

Also had Godwin before Mideon, Leif before AL Snow, Rocky and Hunter before Rock and HHH, Fake Diesel before Kane.

Kane was the dentist in the 95SS, Fake Diesel for 96SS, Kane for 97SS.

Love the commentary in that 96 SS match. Vince and JR were a decent combo, although JR sounds more like a hype man than an actual commentator at times. And you could hear a bit of his attitude coming out here and there, like borderline heel. I love the part where JR brings up Bob Backund losing the title to the Iron Sheik in 1984, and Vince saying Backlund never actually gave up. The idea of protecting one of the most disappointing world champions ever, all those years later lol.

Kevin Nash is such a great storyteller, could listen to him tell wrestling stories for hours.

This was on the actual Network and lost in the move to Peacock so it's nice to see it pop up again.

The behind the scenes is new though.

It's always crazy seeing Scott Hall pre Razor Ramon. Always just feels like his career begun when he was Razor.

And also weird seeing him look like some guy in his 40s-50s when he's in his 20s, yet he looks younger by the mid 90s.

Christian Cage managed by Jim Cornette? Didn't know that ever happened.

I only remember/heard of Don Callis managing Edge and/or Christian pre WWE or something like that, never heard of Cornette doing that.

Doubt they'll be able to release it, but Angle vs Owen is probably the match I want to see the most of all (that I know of) dark matches that have never been released.

Yeah, the match itself is probably an incredibly boring thing to watch but just off the names I'd love to see it someday.

Latest WWE Vault video has Chris Parks talking about an Abyss Match in Puerto Rico. Could we see Abyss in the Rumble? Or even 2K25 in a TNA Pack?
