Where Does The Shield Rank All-Time?

Now that it's looking like The Shield is close to splitting, how do you guys think they stack up against the all-time great factions? The n.W.o, 4 Horsemen, Evolution, Dangerous Alliance, Fabulous Freebirds, etc.

It's been about 16 months since Rollins, Ambrose, & Reigns debuted, at the Survivor Series 2012 PPV, and they've raised hell and entertained like no one else during that time.

In my opinion, from a match standpoint, they are right up at the top with the Horsemen. They haven't had a single dud (minus the times they've had matches end after 3 minutes, due to DQ)

Individually, all of them can perform. We all knew Rollins & Ambrose were top notch performers, and we knew Ambrose could talk his *** off, but Reigns has really come into his own during his time with those guys. His in ring work has improved by leaps and bounds, and he's a great story teller in the ring.

Well personally I love the Shield. Granted I've only been watching them for about 3 months but still these guys are awesome!! All of these guys will hopefully go on to have very solid singles careers. Who knows maybe they get back together later on and cause more hell!

Yeah it's hard to rank them when they've only been doing their thing for a year. I'll say this though the breakup angle that's been developed is the best i've seen in years. So that's something.

In fact the whole booking of The Shield/Wyatts and the Shield's break up is very old school and proves that old school type booking CAN work today.

Coming into this thread I was already thinking this exact thing. The Shield is great. I really like them. I honestly figured they'd add another before splitting.

Anyway, they're an awesome trio. But I think it's hard to compare them to the likes of the Horsemen, the Freebirds, the Dangerous Alliance, etc.

They could be comparable to Evolution in many many years. Let's see where they go in their singles roles. If we get a couple World Champions out of it, they definitely could be Evolution-like.

Not long enough to rank em up there with the greats of Horseman, Freebirds ect. Great little run but that was all.

If we are talking about the greatest factions all-time, then we have to mention the Truth Commission.

But seriously. I don't think you can put The Shield in the ranks with the Horseman, but for this era of wrestling, I would say they are right up there at the top.

They rank pretty damn highly.

From the quality of their very first match to the PPV matches, even their singles matches, not to mention their promos being stellar as well.

All three can talk, wrestle, argue, act, brawl and have ridiculous potential both as a group and as individuals.

It's scary that these guys should only get better. I hope if/when they split WWE will give them freedom to run with the ball and wrestle their style.

Biggest knock for me is that we never really find out what their "purpose" is. They always said they were out to "correct injustices" but like, I dunno. Wish that was connected to something.

For a while it was connected to CM Punk getting screwed over or something. But yeah, that was about it.
