I freaking fell asleep during the show and Im not happy about it! Reading back over the thread. LOLZiggler and really? to the guys that STILL think they just have nothing for Ziggler to do. Can we please stop that? They just kept Dolph Ziggler out of a 6 man ladder match in favor of Alberto Del Rio. Let that sink in for a moment there. It is absurdity. There is no doubt that Ziggler has, and has continued to piss somebody off in the back. The guy has managed to stay over with the crowd for a long time through all the **** (twice literally btw) they've put him through and they have forcefully refused to use it to better Ziggler. No they use Ziggler's burn to get everybody else over and they give Ziggler meaningless wins once or twice a month on Sunday Night Heat. Lets just accept the absurdity that is Zigglers constant burials. What they have done with Ziggler and Sandow has been damn near criminal. But you get to do **** like this when you are the only boys on the block.


I had a whole rant typed about this Shield swerve but since soo many people here dig it, Im gonna save my thoughts. They are gonna have to come up with some real good reasoning for this move from Rollins next week. Like mind blowingly good reasoning, and its gonna have to be better than "HHH offered me a better deal" or some analogous nonsense. Btw if they add a new member to the Shield, which I doubt, the short list would have to be Neville and Zayn right? (and Im all for Rollins losing the blonde streaks)

And btw, Ive been telling you guys Luke Harper was the real star there! Im just saying.

Seth Rollins has to cut the best promo of his life next week for this angle not to bomb. On paper it makes no sense to turn on them when you've been destroying everyone, you've never be tighter as a group, and you just laid your bodies on the line the night before to demolish evolution 3-0.

It makes perfect sense to me why Rollins would turn. The Shield may have won, but if we're looking at it through their storylines then they've certainly seen how hard it was for Bryan to get title shots going up against the boss, etc.

I'm all for swerves in wrestling but I have to say, I don't like this one. Why have Rollins battle Evolution and The Authority for months, only to turn on his teammates 24 hours after a brutal match? The timing just doesn't make sense to me. I'd understand it more if it happened at the PPV.

To play Internet Booker - I was talking with my brother about this last night, and my question for him was "how do you make The Shield as a group any bigger than they were at the end of last night (referring to Payback)?" In my opinion, you don't.

The thing in wrestling is to always turn a face to heel at the peak of his popularity. To that end, the timing IMO is absolutely perfect, and the choice of Rollins for the turn, while it could have been any of the three, is absolutely perfect as well, IMO. I'm of the opinion that all three members of The Shield will be fine solo, but with Reigns as the established 'it' guy and Ambrose as the established 'talker', Rollins needs a little something extra to get him over as a solo star, and having him break up the most popular group in wrestling at the convincing of Triple H will do exactly that.

I agree. I mean if anyone, people would have picked Ambrose as the guy to turn. I think the selection was perfect. Rollins is a star in the making as well. I think this will help everyone. i do worry a tad bit about Ambrose wrestling skills.

Rollins makes perfect sense. Pair him up with Evolution and now he has a mouthpiece in HHH. He's in a similar situation as he was in the Shield now, and I think he's really comfortable in that situation.

Besides, he's going to learn so much from HHH and Orton promo-wise. Hopefully Orton doesn't teach him how to forget his lines.

Damn it. After reading through this thread, I regret going to sleep before RAW last night.

I think Rollins leaving the Shield first makes the most sense. A few months ago, he was the only thing holding the group together. Now, after all the time he spent trying to be the glue that holds them together, it makes perfect sense for him to have built them up only to break them apart. He has legit beef with them, since both Reigns & Ambrose have seemed to have their own agendas, rather than the agenda of the group.

Also, those saying Ambrose made more sense - maybe he made more sense to be the first one to turn heel, but under these circumstances..he makes no sense. I can't even force myself to see Ambrose in Evoluton making sense. I can't see him in a suit or following along with "what's best for business". Rollins makes the most sense in this role.

I do disagree with the fact that "it gives Rollins a mouth piece now". Have you guys listened to him on the mic these past 3 or 4 months? He doesn't "need" a mouth piece. He's been a better talker than Orton since this feud began. I just love the idea that he can get around these guys and learn from them. Reigns is the one that could really benefit from a mouth piece and learning from those guys on the mic.

I can't help but look at this situation in 2 different ways..
Either..
1.) Triple H & Orton and those higher up think Rollins is the one with the most potential and they want to partner him up with Evolution as a way to push him to that next level because they see him as the future star of the company.
OR
2.) Triple H and the higher ups in the company think Rollins needs something like this more than Reigns or Ambrose do, so they figure "Hey, put him with Evolution. He needs the most help."

I HOPE it's the first one because I love Rollins and his ability and potential.

A mark is someone who is in the "wrestling is real" crowd; he enjoys professional wrestling as if it were not a scripted event.

A smark is 'in on the joke', if you will; he knows that pro wrestling is scripted, enjoys it as such, and pays a great deal of attention of things going on in the pro wrestling world beyond what happens on television.

Most everyone on this message board is a smark, and the increasing popularity of wrestling as a topic of discussion on the internet has resulted in an increasing number of smarks at live shows.
