    Re: Summerslam 08/17/14

Great, great PPV. Everything was pretty entertaining. Stephanie looked great, Bella turn was dumb. Why was she acting sad about it? Weird. Most of the other matches were really good too. Lana the best looking person in WWE history? Surely not. She's got the sexiness because of the way she dresses and acts, but actual facial feature-wise? No way. Not even close.

Can't stand Lesnar but it keeps Heyman in the forefront so whatever. I'm glad they went with the beatdown without the comeback but it sets up a major problem:

Brock beat Undertaker and John Cena in consecutive matches. There's nobody in the same stratosphere as those guys on the roster right now. So Lesnar is just gonna beat the **** out of everybody, then? That's one big "who cares" since he's already beat the two "untouchables," so-to-speak.

Unless they go with Bryan coming back and winning the Royal Rumble and beating Lesnar, everything else is kinda.....I don't know.

In order to do this you had to commit to Lesnar being champion for a LONG time. He better show up and act like he's part of the show rather than just some intermittent, bull**** guy.

I really want to see what they do. The guy who beats Lesnar now is gonna be put on a stratosphere beyond what beating the streak would do.

Seth Rollins is a dead duck. He cant cash in anytime soon. It would be a travesty.

I want to see a Daniel Bryan and Lesnar match just to see the match, but I would be upset if Bryan did it. I honestly dont see them not giving the win back to Cena in the end. Lesnar is too big right now.

Yeah. Maybe they have Lesnar v. Cena headline Wrestlemania. That would suck because the obviousness would be off the charts.

Exactly who keeps track of these things?
Someone on Reddit pointed out that Benoit was the actual record holder with at least 10 (all of them consecutive right in a row too) in a WWF title match against Austin on Smackdown in 2001.

The play here is to let Lesnar keep the belt until WM 32 and spend that year plus building Reigns into a comparable monster. They'll never do it though.

I'd hope they wouldn't do that.

Sting at his age should not be anywhere near the title picture. Give him Taker or keep him far far away IMO.

That is where most likely its heading, hopefully for the fans' sake Reigns can improve if not hopefully WWE sees the error of their ways and maybe give Cesaro that giant push.

The latter unfortunately is a giant pipe dream.

Not happy about another part timer winning the title, but it is what it is. I guess Cena needed time off to film Marine part 6 or something.

And no, I wasn't happy when Rock won recently either, for the same reason. (Part timer)

Wondering who's next to rise up and challenge Brock? Bray? Boreton?

He carried a sack of **** to a respectable match, by some type of sorcery.

Rock's title win sucked not because he was a part timer, but because it was so obvious that the only reason he won it was to drop it to Cena. With Lesnar it's not as clear-cut. Does he stay as a hired gun for the Authority? Does he go his own way because "nobody else is at his level", and if so, how does the Authority react to having the title off Cena, but on another guy they can't control? Or does he just drop it back to Cena next month?

Of course, I'm of the belief that Lesnar could show up once a month and be a good champion, so what do I know? To make that work you need a guy who can be held above everyone else (after beating Taker and Cena cleanly, he's got that), and you need other storylines to pick up the slack - and we all know WWE has had a hard time doing that consistently.

But normally it's a "good guy vs villian" story. With both being "villains" how would that work? Or another Orton face turn in the works?

Because Orton was working as a heel tonight....

I will say, I'm not as down on Roman as most here, but he does need to improve. I was cool with him a few months ago when he began a singles run, as I knew that as a new babyface, they'd have him stick to a small set of moves before the lolsupermanspear. But now, there hasn't really been any improvement in that regard. As someone said, he has some natural charisma, but he's so wooden on the mic. It's not surprising, as he hasn't really been in the ring that long, and they are already asking him to be a top guy. I think he can get there, but he's got a ways to go. As far as "the look" goes, the guy has it more than anyone in recent memory IMO. He just needs to work on the other stuff to really be a main event player.

On the topic of Orton. The guy has been absolute money for the better part of a year now. He's arguably the most reliable guy on the roster right now, and that's saying a lot from where he was a couple of years ago when he just didn't seem to care. The guy seems to have grown up both inside and outside of the ring, and it shows.

Final note. Lesnar going over Cena the way he did is everything I hoped it would be. That is all.

I'm glad Brock won. I'm glad Brock destroyed Cena. Pretty boring though. It didn't have to be THAT one sided to make Brock look like a monster. And why the same suplex over and over? Is that some sort of Taker reference since those were the suplexes that nearly killed him? I thought of that after Brock did the Undertaker sit up.

Anyways, I was having so many problems with the network last night. It was nearly unwatchable. Hearing them continue to hammer in that 9.99 while I'm watching the network and having problems was making my blood boil. Pretty down on the product right now because of it.
