Re: 01/05/2014 Raw: Authority's Back and You're Gonna Be in Trouble
Pretty bad when I'm unsure I even want to watch the Rumble despite having the Network. Obviously I will, as it's my favorite PPV, but man, they've been doing NOTHING interesting as of late. They had a couple good weeks, but last nights show was absolutely horrendous.Comment

The worse things that can happend in the next few weeks...
- Roman Reigns wins the rumble and Brock Lensar retains setting up Lesnar vs Reigns at WM
- Cena wins the Absurd match against the Authority like everyone says when Randy Orton comes out to help him
- mizdow breaks off from the miz
-Tyson Kidd continues to get a pushatleast..Its not DelawareComment

I guess it's too soon, but I was hoping when HHH called Cena out, Stings music hit instead. The ending was funny with the music, balloons, and sad Cena face but what a meh Raw imo. At least the Rumble main event is more interesting now.
So basically, HHH came out and now we have the darkest timeline where the authority won at SS instead. Does WWE know that they could have just had them win and saved us all a lot of time? These days I'm less like "Jailhouse Rock" Elvis and more like "dying alone on the toilet" Elvis.Comment

I really dont think Sandow will be over as much as he is with the miz
Kidd sucks! To me, there is alot better talent on this show and from Next that should have an opportunity. Kidd had a shot 10 years ago and couldnt pull it off. Dude is just not thereatleast..Its not DelawareComment

And then last night happened.
New Day sucks worst than anything and still no Orton.
Being out of football season and entering into "Wrestlemania Season" will certainly help, but I bet these threads dwindle back down to half the size this one is if this is the product they deliver on a weekly basis.Last edited by legendkiller5; 01-06-2015, 09:59 AM.Rice Owls - Houston Astros/Dynamo/Rockets/Texans - Arsenal - PSGComment

Last week's episode had convinced me to keep cable and give Comcast my first born, but if this week's episode is a sign of things to come I'm cutting the chord.
Seriously, you start the show off with everyone on the roster in the ring and they do nothing, NOTHING, to contest or protest the Authority being back in power yet nine months ago Daniel Bryan holds the show hostage with fans in protest.
This lazy booking is turning me away from the product.Comment

hey New Day. gtfo.
Vince: But hey I got a better idea, instead of making them a monster stable in the vein of the Nation of Domination, lets turn them into goofy televangelists! These days I'm less like "Jailhouse Rock" Elvis and more like "dying alone on the toilet" Elvis.Comment

Re: 01/05/2014 Raw: Authority's Back and You're Gonna Be in Trouble
I was going to write a detailed post about how terrible last night's show was but then I realized it wasn't worth it.
Sure, writing the post would allow me to vent, but that's not going to change the WWE product. So, I'll take this post in a slightly different direction.
I equate WWE to Madden. Both are really the only viable option we have for professional wrestling and video game football. With Madden, it's clear that the game will never reach the NBA 2K or MLB The Show levels of sim that most of us here on the boards covet. Instead, it will be a hodge-podge of some sim elements mixed in with arcade elements. So, if you want to play NFL football on your Xbox One or PS4, you will have to change your expectation levels for the game and also spend a lot of time working on sliders/gameplay settings to get the game to be somewhat enjoyable. If you are unable to do that, then you have to come to a point as a consumer that even though you are a big fan of football, you cannot buy Madden because it is not meeting your expectations.
WWE programming is very similar. They know they are the only game in town and are content to try and be this all-encompassing form of entertainment when it's pretty clear that the fans of the product would prefer more in-ring action and for championships/feuds to actually mean something. WWE will never be sim, though. They are going to continue to pump out 15-20 minute promos, lame comedy segments and give away PPV (or whatever they'll be called once PPVs go away) matches on TV because they've just run out of ideas. So, as a fan, you have to look for silver linings to make the product work, or just stop watching and don't look back.
NXT and the old-school content on the Network is the only thing keeping me going at this point, and even then I don't know if that's enough to justify the $9.99/mo. fee for the Network.
And yes, I realize that "business is about to pick up" as we roll into WrestleMania season, but guaranteed that once that event is over the product will go back to being exactly what it is now. A overly-scripted, over-edited show with no real direction.
Maybe we need to follow CM Punk's lead and join the UFC.Currently Playing:

Tyson Kidd is an exceptional wrestler and he's had more personality in the last few months then probably in his entire career. Kidd/Cesaro seems like a good pairing then maybe he breaks off into a solid mid card runSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment
