3/23/15 Raw: The Last One Before the Big One

So here we are, the last Raw before the biggest event of the wrestling year and even though we should be focusing on the storylines leading in to WrestleMania we are instead getting what will likely be an overloaded show with the inclusion of two mega stars from the entertainment industry in Bill Simmons and Snoop Dogg. Guys, expect a ratings overload.


Here's what creative has been working on to try and make us care this week:




It’s been a difficult Road to WrestleMania for Roman Reigns, but this week on Raw, he hits his greatest speed bump yet when he goes face to face with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. Will The Beast Incarnate bring the pain before battling The Big Dog on The Grandest Stage of Them All?
As rap icon Snoop Dogg and ESPN personality Bill Simmons prepare to join the WWE Universe less than one week before WrestleMania 31, what else is in store on the final Raw before The Show of Shows? WWE.com has some ideas:

• Will Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar brawl before WrestleMania?
• How will Triple H respond to Sting?
• Does retribution await Bad News Barrett?
• Will Randy Orton get his hands on Seth Rollins? (wait, wasn't that the last 10 minutes of Raw last week?)
• Is Rusev afraid of John Cena?

As much as a Simmons fan as I am, I don't get what type of role he could play that would help the build towards WM.

At least he's a huge WWE fan who regularly watches the product, so he knows what's going on and everything. Don't know how often Jon Stewart watches, but he obviously is a fan and it showed during his segment with Rollins(which was GREAT). Hopefully Simmons stuff can come off same way.

Maybe they'll have him do some sort of analysis on the WM card or something lol.

Though main reason for getting him on the show...so that they can be mentioned by ESPN. Mentioning WWE/Wrestlemania on ESPN just days before Wrestlemania happens would be HUGE for WWE. Especially if they do something like have Simmons and Lesnar on screen at same time(which would be picked up by ESPN even more since Lesnar is more known to people cause of UFC)

I'm sorry but having Snoop Dog and Bill Simmons on the go home Raw is stupid. It should be all about WM for 3 hours.

Like I mentioned in the other thread, the way I'm getting myself excited for WM is by watching video packages of past WM matches.

It's actually gonna take abit longer than I thought. Gonna spread it out over multiple days. Doing Taker-Lesnar stuff tomorrow, Raw tuesday, a day of just video packages,another day of RTWM segments and then SD on some other day.

I'm gonna laugh so much if Simmons ends up being better than Cole and JBL.

Granted, all he has to do is correctly call a move and he'd be infinitely better than Cole and JBL.

I'm sorry but having Snoop Dog and Bill Simmons on the go home Raw is stupid. It should be all about WM for 3 hours.

Wrestlemania has and will always be about celebrities. We've seen LL Cool J, Wiz Khalifa, Jon Stewart. All have paid off (especially the Stewart angle).

Simmons has a huge Twitter following, and I'm sure he'll be tweeting about the show. Snoop has an enormous following all to his own. Both are fans of the product (as were all of the guests so far).

I feel like it makes the product feel more special leading up. They aren't Guest Hosts or Raw GMs like they have been in the past, and haven't directly affected the action per se. So I'm okay with it.

I feel like they have to have Sting show up and The Authority get the best of him tonight , otherwise there is virtually no chance of him winning Sunday. Sting has gotten the upper hand every time he has been on TV

There's no way Sting loses his WWE debut, especially it being at Mania.
