Apparently it was supposed to be the Miz and Stardust, but Ryback's injury stalled that feud from finishing up.

They could have just pretended that the Ryback/Big Slow/Miz feud never existed, I'm sure nobody would have complained. At least their would be some logic in tagging Miz with Stardust, rather than a random throw in for a partner

I don't think it would've made sense for anyone other than Goldust to team with Stardust. Not sure how Miz makes more sense than Barrett, they're both Midcard heels with not a lot going for them.

Stardust is a heel, Goldust is a face... wouldn't make sense either. But the thinking with Miz is that he's 'Hollywood' so that's the only thing he'd have in common with Amell

They need 5 max.

Exactly. The more people you have working on something like this, the more ego's get involved and it just becomes too many people trying to add stuff to a pot of food that's already good. Don't mess it up and ruin it.

Goldust hasn't been seen in a long time so he technically could return as a heel.

Though the Miz thing makes more sense and I wish that would've happened now, with Miz crapping on Amells acting or something. And it's not like I don't even like Barrett, it's just he doesn't make sense here.
