I bought the PPV and then realized I could have subscribed to Honor Club and watched it for $9.99. I'm assuming a lot of other people watched it on there. I was glad to support the event, honestly.

Re: Ring of Honor/Other Indie Promotions Discussion
The most newsworthy bit was his revelation that former ROH Tag Team Champions The Briscoes are under a long-term contract. He used the term "exclusive," but it's unknown as of now if that means exclusive to ROH (meaning no AEW) or exclusive to his employ. The team was recently dropped from an Impact Wrestling match on short notice with the explanation of an injury.Comment

He also said Colt Cobana would be involved with ROH...though declined to answer when asked about the current relationship between Colt and Punk.Comment

I still really think the main event is a bad idea…but this undercard is stacked….

Re: Ring of Honor/Other Indie Promotions Discussion
Reading the reactions online, it sounds like people bought this PPV (or are "streaming" it) just to say how bad he looks. I don't know what people were expecting. Honestly he looks and moves better than he has any right to.
Not sure about that fake heart attack eye gouge spot tho lol.Comment

Re: Ring of Honor/Other Indie Promotions Discussion
Caught some of the highlights...Ric looked better in the training videos they posted than he did last night.
It wasn't the guy in the training videos from not that long ago. He looked like an older man having a hard time walking. Meltzer said he worked the match with a foot injury. He couldn't even grip brass knuckles because he got so shaky.
But he survived...so there's that. But that should definitely be the last one. No need to try to go break Terry Funk's record of most retirement matches.Last edited by jasontoddwhitt; 08-01-2022, 09:48 AM.Comment

Re: Ring of Honor/Other Indie Promotions Discussion
For those who don't know, Buff Bagwell is the latest wrestler to get clean from DDP. Buff has been staying with Dallas and he's on his way to turning things around. They also worked on a new gimmick for him where he's Mr. Rogers and at MCW in Baltimore, MD; Mr. Bagwell's Neighborhood made it's debut.

Re: Ring of Honor/Other Indie Promotions Discussion
Nick Aldis has given his notice to Billy Corgan and the NWA. Nick said there was a breakdown in his relationship with Billy and called NWA a bad show. His contract is officially up on January 1st, 2023.
WWE? AEW? IMPACT? Given the respect between Nick Aldis and Cody, have to wonder if Cody will put in a good word to try to get Triple H to sign him.Comment

I don't see him fitting as much with AEW right now, unless he signs there to wind up in ROH.Comment

Re: Ring of Honor/Other Indie Promotions Discussion
In response to Aldis giving a notice, Billy Corgan pulled him off of his remaining dates.
Aldis needed to leave NWA in 2019. He could've positioned himself as a top guy in AEW or even gotten to WWE. But with the AEW roster as bloated as ever and WWE focusing on development with NXT, would he even have a spot?
Maybe he ends up back in Impact.Comment

Re: Ring of Honor/Other Indie Promotions Discussion
Never realized WoW was on basic cable in Canada.
It's cool to see wrestling on so many different channels again. I don't think this has ever really happened. Even during MNW, WCW took a backseat the entire time, never even being live here.
And AJ is a commentator on the show too? Reminding me how good she is on the mic.Comment
