I guess viewership must have been way down last night.

Probably the first Takeover where I felt like it didn't live up to the previous one. But that's okay, it was eventually going to hit that point, still had a lot of really good matches. Sad to see Tye take over the Tyler Breeze jobber role, but that is what it is. Match of the night was Aries vs Naka, with the Tag Title match being a close second.

Re: NXT Takeover: The End 6/8/16

It was hard to get into this TakeOver for some odd reason.

        - Tye Dillinger vs Andrade 'Cien' Almas: It was an ok match for what it was...an exhibition for the former La Sombre. I feel like they should've paired an out and out heel with Almas. Tye is a heel per se, but a heel that the fans absolutely love. I am glad to see The Perfect Ten on a TakeOver again, and hopefully he gets a push from Trips soon, and he gets to do something memorable that will replace this as his most memorable moment for me....

        <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/QnPo4fMBDds" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

        - American Alpha (c) vs The Revival - NXT Tax Team Championship: Fantastic match with an upset victory, only because of how much Alpha had been built up. More importantly, for the sake of their credibility as one of the best tag teams in the company, Dash and Dawson won clean. There are only two ways for the heel champs to go. A rubber match with Alpha (perhaps a 2 out of 3 falls match). Or what I think will happen most likely (more on that in a moment), The Revival get into a program with Ciampa and Gargano.

Because Alpha will be busy getting retribution after the beat down they received from the so-called Authors of Pain. With the Hall of Famer Paul Ellering coming out of retirement to be their mouthpiece, these guys could get over really quickly because of Ellering's ability to manipulate a crowd.

        - Shinsuke Nakamura vs Austin Aries: Another fantastic match. This was the Aries I have been waiting for since his arrival at NXT. Whereas at Dallas, it looked like he was going through the motions with Corbin, last night, he looked superior to Nakamura. That Death Valley Driver on the apron was vicious.

        - Asuka (c) vs Nia Jax - NXT Women's Championship: A good match that told a good story. Asuka held the match together, bumping and making Jax look good. Nia also did her part, showing more aggression than she has before. The match didn't quite reach the lofty expectations that have been set by the Four Horsewomen over the past year and half, but it was still a good title match.

        - Samoa Joe (c) vs Finn Balor - Cage match for the NXT Championship: Match was ok, but that's to be expected after the last two matches these two have put on. I'm ok with the finish. Joe needed a second-rope muscle buster to finally put away the Demon (first time Balor has lost as the Demon at NXT).

For Balor, I think it's on to bigger and better things, though I said the same thing after he dropped the title to Joe at NXT Live in Massachusetts.

As for Joe, this is the signature match of his title reign and makes him the new face of NXT. Joe should have plenty of challengers on his plate, with Nakamura, Aries, Almas, Ciampa, Gargano, a returning Hideo Itami, not to mention Eric Young and Bobby Roode, waiting in the wings.

I don't really think Tye is the new Breeze job role, you gotta debut the guy vs someone notable, you're not going to put him up vs some no name guy that fans never heard of.

Serious question - does an "out and out heel" exist on the NXT roster in front of the Full Sail crowd? The only person you could remotely make a case for is Elias Samson, and he's apparently injured.

I believe Dawson & Wilder (The Revival) are out and out heels.

They are, yeah, but not in the context I meant. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

jasontoddwhitt cited Dillinger being a heel that gets cheered as a negative for a match with Andrade. I was asking if there was a heel on NXT (aside from the injured Samson) that would be a better matchup because they don't get cheered. Revival are absolutely heels, but they get cheered like almost everyone else in NXT.

Maybe Blake or Murphy? Not even sure they get booed - maybe just mild indifference from the crowd.

Yeah, Samson is a heel....with a broke ankle.

Now that you mention it.....there is a major lack of heels on the NXT roster.

I hate how Tye Dillinger is treated.

They try. People cheer them anyway.
