It had one of the best buildups in recent memory too.

Then of course they killed all of that momentum in one swing with ****ing Kevin Nash and to a lesser extent, Triple H.

Was just coming to post that. My god they couldn’t possibly have ****ed up what followed any harder. Punk and Cena has such insane chemistry together in the ring that they should have had an Austin/Rock level rivalry.

That match they had on Raw where they busted out the piledriver i think might be my favorite match of all time.

No reason at all. If they had simply added Punk to that second Rock/Cena match it could have made that match incredible. Then have them fued more the following year culminating in a 1v1 match at Mania. It’s a joke they weren’t pushed more together.

2 Years ago today..... The return of The Brand Split!

Also Fun Fact: Carmella was the final draft pick in the relaunch of the Brand Split. 2 years later, she is now the SD Live Women's Champion.

                      She Started Here....

                      Now She's here....

They need to make each show distinctive from the other. Brand split had so much potential.

Really should've just made there be 1 world and womens champ. Especially now with co-branded PPVs. If AJ is the WWE champ, he can appear on both shows. If he's in a feud with Rusev, he's on SD. Once the feud is done, he can still be on both shows, but if someone like Rollins wants to challenge him on Raw, he can do so now too.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...

Given everything happening around Raw right now, I think it's fitting to post this.

16 years ago today, Brock Lesnar (with his Undisputed Title match at Summerslam on the horizon) signed with Smackdown, leaving Raw behind:

Also, on the same show in 2002 we see:
                          -3 Minute Warning debut
                          -The infamous Rock/Eddie segment
                          -DX "reunites"

All that happened in a single episode of Raw, plus so much more. It's why I loved this era of WWE, especially summer time when the road to Summerslam was the 2nd best time of the year, at times for me it even surpassed WM season.

It’s crazy how little remember about old episodes. Like I remember that DX reunion but nothing else u mentioned.

Rock and Eddie had an infamous segment?

Yeah just because WWE tweets it as a "infamous segment" doesn't make it one.
