Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...

It definitely doesn't have the same feel with no crowd, but I just write off any part of shows nowadays I hate and just blame it on no crowd.

Its really hit or miss though. If stuff is bad, its unwatchable. If it's good, its great. I don't care one bit about the Mysterio/Murphy/Corbin stuff, or the womens tag division ever since Nia/Shayna took over. However, Reigns heel turn, Bayley as a heel, Hurt Business among other things have been so good.

Watching DVR recording is best way to watch WWE imo. Just skip all commercials and things you dont care about. You enjoy it way more since you turn a 3 hour Raw into a 1 or 2 hour show with no commercials and only stuff you care about.

Kinda? PPVs yeah because I’ve got the Network and usually nothing much going on a Sunday night so it’s easy to throw on in the background.

Weekly shows? I’ll flip to them during commercials of other stuff or check out WWE’s YouTube for anything that might be interesting.

I'd say 2020 was the least amount of time I've watched wrestling in my whole life. I agree, DVR is the way to go if you're watching RAW or SD, but I can honestly tell you, between Dynamite, RAW & SD, those have built up on my DVR for months and I haven't watched a single one lol.

I have more fun watching all the behind the scenes aspect of things, the documentaries on the Network, Stone Cold Podcast, etc than the current on screen product. That's why I like this thread, fun to look back at past wrestling events, the only reason I subscribe to the Network and I guess soon Peacock is the library of classic matches I can watch whenever I want.

I'm honestly surprised that Smackdown, AEW and NXT have held up over the past year when it comes to viewership numbers. Raw is way down, but 3 hours is a death sentence.

I don’t watch weekly. But I follow the results and will flip it on from time to time on Monday/Friday. I do still watch every PPV though.

It isn’t so much the quality of the product. There have been some cool moments and storylines over the last year. It’s just the feel without fans just isn’t the same. I give them so much credit for what they achieved with the Thunder Dome. But it’s just too hard to stay keyed in completely every week.

April 4th, 2011 could bring us a very similar post like this. April 4th, 2021 would be 10 years to the day Edge announced his retirement on RAW. Night 2 of Mania happens to be on April 4th.

That would be real special. I could fully see them doing that.

McIntyre vs whoever is night 1, Reigns vs Edge night 2.

I love the optics of this. Having worked in the casino business in college, I've had to pay out some large amounts. $100,000 in $100 dollar bills (banded) is about 5 inches or so.

Meaning, if that briefcase was legit full of banded $100's, that would be, at least, a cool million in there.

It makes me laugh, because HHH is supposedly showing $100,000, but in reality, it would be much more. Maybe the only time in WWE history they completely undersold what the fans were seeing (or supposedly seeing).

We covered this before here, but yesterday Feb 11th was the 6th year anniversary of the first and only NXT 4HW Fatal 4 Way between Charlotte, Sasha, Bayley and Becky. I'm only posting this because Bayley posted a response to this on Instagram with one word. I actually wouldn't be surprised if this happened at Mania one day and was the second Women's Mania Main Event.

If Becky was able to this year, this year would've been perfect to do it. They easily could've main evented night 1 of WM.

I'd love them to do it next year. You have WM in Dallas, hopefully they could go close to max capacity (even half capacity is a huge number in that stadium), so if Becky is able to by then, this could be such a great feud.

February 12th, 2019. The Birth of KofiMania. It was on this day on Smackdown when Kofi replaced an injured Ali in the Gauntlet match. Which led to Kofi putting on a show that led him to be in the Elimination Chamber where he once again put on a show stealing performance and almost won the WWE Championship.
