I forgot this happened on February 14th as well. Cant believe it's been 10 years! Coincidence that his career really took off as THE big movie star not too long after he embraced WWE again? Apparently it was due to his former agent telling him to distance himself from "The Rock"/WWE?

Let's not forget, before he returned in 2011 his biggest movies were Disney ones like Tooth Fairy, Race to Witch Mountain, Game Plan. Returning to WWE was the best move he ever made.

Ehhh I don’t think his return was what caused his jump. 2011 is the year that Fast 5 came out and that movie was massive. That was really his super break out movie.

THE match is made for WWF Wrestlemania X8.......19 years ago! Can you believe we're about to have our 19th WWE Wrestlemania! This WM is now in the first half of Wrestlemania history!

If that happened today and they did the exact same introduction, I’d assume The Fiend was hosting WM

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...

One week following The Rock's epic return as the host of Wrestlemania, two more big names would return on Feb 21st, 2011 as The Undertaker made his return only to be interrupted by a returning Triple H.

Backstory time. WWE was airing vignettes similar to the 1997 Starrcade Promos using the date '2.21.11' that were meant for Sting's official debut with the company and a dream match showdown with Undertaker at Wrestlemania 27 in Atlanta, GA. WWE promised Sting the match with Taker and a Hall of Fame spot, fitting that WCW's Franchise Player would go into the HOF during Mania weekend in Atlanta.

Sting revealed he turned it down as concerns of how he would be used creatively kept him from WWE until 2014.

I still think whenever Rey retires from WWE, they do a story where if he loses, he unmasks, but after losing he says it means too much to him and he'd rather retire than unmask and that's how he goes out.

For some reason that pic looks like a video game screenshot.

And I haven't seen the invasion since it happened, forgot she was still Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley during that era. I know they couldn't get the big WCW guys for the invasion, but I wonder what their plans were for HHH during this era. I could've seen him join up on the Alliance side. Maybe he was the planned mole, which would've led to WWF winning and the divorce happening after that story is done.

One year ago today, the biggest tragedy in wrestling history.

                            Solid overstatement

My only takeaway from that event, that was the last big WWE event before the world shut down.

So basically what you're saying is the world was fine until Goldberg beat The Fiend, and for us to go back to normal and end the pandemic The Fiend must defeat Goldberg in a rematch?
