Harry Slash recorded the ECW theme song, apparently.

      WCW Spring Stampede

Russo and Bischoff announced the reboot six days earlier on Nitro, which meant WCW needed to crown a bunch of new champions. In storyline, the refs were told to relax some of the rules and give the guys leeway to fight...so as you'd expect from a 2000 WCW show booked by Vince Russo, the vast majority of matches have some kind of bull**** in the finish.

WCW World Tag Team Titles Tournament Semi Final
Harris Boys vs. The Mamalukes (Big Vito and Johnny the Bull) vs. Team Package (The Total Package and Ric Flair)

      Jimmy Hart vs. Mancow

WCW United States Title Tournament Quarter Final
      Scott Steiner vs. The Wall

WCW United States Title Tournament Quarter Final
Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Ernest Miller vs. Mike Awesome

WCW World Tag Team Titles Tournament Semi Final
Harlem Heat 2000 (Big T and Stevie Ray) vs. Buff Bagwell and Shane Douglas

WCW United States Title Tournament Quarter Final
      Booker T vs. Sting

WCW United States Title Tournament Quarter Final
      Billy Kidman vs. Vampiro

      WCW Hardcore Title Match
      Norman Smiley vs. Terry Funk

WCW United States Title Tournament Semi Final
      Mike Awesome vs. Scott Steiner

WCW United States Title Tournament Semi Final
      Sting vs. Vampiro

6-Way Suicide Match - WCW Cruiserweight Title Match
The Artist vs. Chris Candido vs. Crowbar vs. Juventud Guerrera vs. Lash LeRoux vs. Shannon Moore

WCW World Tag Team Titles Tournament Final
Buff Bagwell and Shane Douglas vs. Team Package

WCW United States Title Tournament Final
      Scott Steiner vs. Sting

      WCW World Heavyweight Title Match
Diamond Dallas Page vs. Jeff Jarrett

Skimming through this show on Peacock, and man...it sucks. It just sucks. But we got a top rope dive from Jimmy Hart, so I guess that's something.

22 years ago says the Internet. Still one of the loudest pops in wrestling history, I mean this was as close as any other talent was going to get to a "Austin Pop." In hindsight, maybe giving the belt back to Triple H was a bad move but Jericho did say that this was a test for him and he passed with flying colors.

Since WWE is throwing Orton a celebration tonight on RAW..... might as well be the entry for today. Cena and Batista will be soon after this.

Randy Orton makes his WWE Debut on Smackdown April 25th, 2002.

Taker doing the topé suicida over the top rope with flames in the background is still one of my favorite moments of that era.

To me that whole inferno setup seems so dangerous and irresponsibile for the safety of everyone in the arena. Then again I look at indoor pyro in front of a packed arena as being questionable too, so what do I know.

Yeah, it's the first thing that comes to mind but I couldn't get a screengrab of it that I liked. It's much better as a video clip.

If I was just hearing the idea now I'd agree, but my opinion is kind of tainted by knowing they've done a few without incident. I guess at the very least (and it's really the very least they could do) they had the crowd further back for this than usual.

Mr. McMahon forced Hulk Hogan to sit out the remainder of his contract and promos began to air for this mysterious new Mr. America Superstar signed by Smackdown GM Stephanie McMahon. On May 1st, 2003 on Piper's Pit, we saw the debut of Mr. America.

Everything about this segment was absolutley brilliant, Piper's reaction to Hogan's music, Mr. America doing all of Hogan's signature poses, etc. Taz & Cole referencing Hogan without saying his name...

                        Taz: He kinda resembles somebody
                        Cole: YOU THINK...

Cole: Mr. America spent some time on the Beach.
                        Taz: In Venice maybe

Cole: Mr. America spent some time in the gym and he's got some Thunder Lips.

The best part wasnt in this video, but the after show.

Rock brings in 2 kids to the ring, let's them do his catchphrase, makes fun of their Cena gear, teases putting on the Cena hat "just to see what it feels like to be a froot loop" but can't get himself to do it.

After that, the crowd wants a certain fan to get it the ring next. Rock is like "No, I'm not inviting you in the ring....because you look crazy! You know what, I'm gonna end this night right here" and signs off.

It's weird how most people have seen WWE for longer than they ever did WWF.

And in a few years (I think 2024?) the WWE name will have been around for more of their history than WWF.

May 19th, 2002: Judgement Day live from Nashville, TN. This was the first PPV since the name change to WWE, this show was headlined by Undisputed Champion Hulk Hogan defending the WWE Championship against The Undertaker. This was the last time The Undertaker won the WWE Championship as he only ever won the World Heavyweight Championship after this. Also he became the first and only person to defeat Hulk Hogan for the WWE Championship twice.
