Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
Liv being booed in a sling on Friday, never realized how close to the anniversary of the same thing happened to Bayley. 5 years ago today, Babyface Bayley being booed in a sling. Bayley never forgot...

NXT Bayley was real over as a face. During that era of NXT I really felt like Bayley would be the top standout from the 4HW. It didnt translate on the main roster, but heel Bayley has worked so much.
Livs is a bit different given the city though.
For Bayley, it was in Toronto, where the crowds are like a NY, Chicago and so on where fans cheer who they like and boo who they hate.Comment

Liv is awful in every single way. I hope she gets booed more. Go away with the rest of the losers from that god awful faction.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
Maybe I have blinders on cause I think she's super attractive (for shame finding a female talent attractive), but I think she's improved a ton since her days on NXT and early on the main roster.
To each their own, but she has a cool finisher (to me) and has gotten the audience (until recently) really invested in her character. [emoji2377]
I think the issue with Bayley was that she was already established and built up as a "down on her luck" babyface. They didn't need to recycle her booking from NXT - where, yes, she lost a lot - to try to make her a "loveable loser," again.
The last straw - much like HITC with Rollins/The Fiend - was that terribly booked Extreme Rules match where Alexa just pummeled her with a Kendo Stick. They/that made her look absolutely pathetic in the feud and it killed her babyface run.
You can argue that other than a few exceptions - Cena & Daniel Bryan (who also had plenty of missteps but they all worked to his favor) - WWE does a piss poor job in recent years of building up and maintaining babyface characters.

What a crazy moment that was. Sadly, it wasn't a sign to Lawler or any old timer about the risk of trying to compete at their age. How different could things have gone if he passed away then.Comment

25 years ago... Stone Cold stuns Mr. McMahon for the first time. It was one of the worst stunners ever taken but at least the very last Stunner 25 years later at Wrestlemania 38 was even worse.

Another one for the "these two had a match?" pile. It's the only singles match between The Rock and Jeff Jarrett.
If the timestamp doesn't work, it's at 33:17 of this video:

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
But really, I've always felt the reason he was good on commentary was because it's his show. He's talking in a way to get the show across to the fans because he knows how he wants every moment to be described and reacted to. His vision is being articulated by himself to the fans rather than yelling in a headset trying to explain his mind to someone else to then explain to the viewers.
Side note, in kayfabe, is Kane indirectly responsible for the screwjob? If not for Kane, Undertaker is the winner and faces Bret at Survivor Series. Kane screwed Bret!Comment

Raw Roulette episodes were always fun. Say what you want about gimmick matches, but it sure was entertaining.Comment
