One year ago today.... the match that was scheduled for WWE RAW that led to Sasha Banks & Naomi walking out of WWE. Naomi was supposed to win the match and face Bianca Belair for the RAW Women's Championship while Sasha was going to go on to face Smackdown Women's Champion Ronda Rousey.

Both would have lost their respective title matches instead of defending their tag titles which led to them walking out.

Their last year really shows why people who take wins and losses in wrestling seriously aren’t too bright.

Double J said it right a couple weeks ago when asked about his weird return in late 97 that ended up going nowhere during that 98 run.

“Did I want to be right or did I want to make a lot of money.”

I said it at the time and I'll say it again, they both overreacted to common WWE booking logic. They and we might not like it, but the company likes using tag teams and/or the tag champs as fodder for singles wrestlers.

I also think the WWE could've came back to them vs. Doudrop & Nikki for the women's tag titles. Instead, the two main principles left/got suspended and Nikki/Doudrop got lost in the mix. Oh well....

I hope they are both happy with whatever they are doing (Stardom and Impact wrestling, respectively).

Right, it was a dumb decision in the moment and with hindsight. I get ever since CM Punk's situation (or even when they actually "screwed over" Bret) it's been cool to be anti-establishment/"stick up for yourself" but the reality is that you are hurting your pockets in the long run.

Get that bag, do it while you can, and realize that outside forces (the office) is gonna pick who they want. Obviously, when you are living it and in the trenches that is hard to see or rationalize.

Not like Punk was the first one to leave.

Austin was obviously one of the earlier "take your ball and go home" moments. He did regret it in hindsight, but you can understand people's frustration.

It's more than just "do your job, get paid, be thankful" for some people. Actually enjoying your job is something many care about, and possibly dealing with frustrating things behind the scenes on a regular basis probably contributes to things too.

I'm sure lots of people would walk out on their employer if they had enough money in the bank and didn't financially need to put up with things that were overtly bothersome.

WWE had just unified the titles with Roman, were about to do the same with The Usos and the Tag Titles. So having all their titles in one or two matches was what WWE was doing and wanted to keep it going with the Women's Division. From a character perspective, "Naomi, your husband has two titles, why don't you have two titles?" or something to that in the lead up to the match. Then Sasha would tease going to SD to win herself a second belt, or whatever.

Obviously, we had no idea what was going to happen in the coming months with Vince, him leaving and Triple H taking over. Then you see how much success WWE had had since Hunter took over creative and you wish Sasha & Naomi were around to be apart of it. Obviously both are happy where they are now and likely the door is open for them to return under Triple H if they wish.

Oh and someone on reddit mentioned how when the walkout happened, CM Punk tweeted about worker rights, Hangman fired back at Punk which resulted in them having heat prior to the Double or Nothing Match last year. Punk randomly shooted on Hangman during an episode of Dynamite, Punk went off during the press conference resulting in Brawl Out. Punk was stripped of his AEW World Championship, The Elite were stripped of the Trios Title... All because Sasha & Naomi walked out of WWE and Punk made a tweet about it.

A non wrestling related moment. 30 years ago today, Sting met... Sting.

The question is, which Sting is the first Sting in your statement and which is the second Sting.

But I like how both (the musician especially) seem to be ok with both having the Sting name since I'm sure there's some sort of lawsuit that could happen since they're in similar industries as well.

It's impossible to not be a fan of that version of Sting in those shades. Truly in the presence of greatness.

June 2nd, 2014 was the day WWE set the tone for the next decade. One chair shot to the back of Roman Reigns was all it took to change the landscape of WWE and Pro Wrestling.

And 9 years later, Reigns still hasn't learned his lesson.

Maybe Reigns has learned after all...

9 years to the day when Rollins turned his back on his brothers, Reigns got Solo to turn his back on his brothers.

Gerald Brisco makes his one and only successful title defense in WWE (against Hardcore title legend Crash Holly)

Who would've thought 1 year later the breakout star of that group would be Dominik Mysterio.

After what we saw on Raw last night, I think we could be soon be seeing another change for the group. Balor loses at MITB and Priest kicks him out and replaces him? Balor loses at MITB and blames Priest and kicks him out? If they disband, who gets custody of Dom?
