Hell in a Cell: 10/30/16

Seeing how Raw used the WCW Clash of Champions name for their last PPV, they really should've had Halloween Havoc for this PPV instead of HIAC. Still could've had HIAC matches, but seeing how the PPV takes place the day before Halloween, would've been fitting to do.

Card so far:

Roman Reigns(C) vs Rusev-Hell in a Cell United States Championship
T.J. Perkins(C) vs Brian Kendrick-Cruiserweight Championship
The New Day(C) vs Cesaro/Sheamus-WWE World Tag Team Championships
Sasha Banks(C) vs Charlotte-Hell in a Cell Womens Title
Kevin Owens(C) vs Seth Rollins-Hell in a Cell WWE Universal Championship
Enzo/Cass vs Gallows/Anderson
Bayley vs Dana
Cruiserweight 6 man tag

I don't see any title changing hands at this event. Only match with a notable ending I think would probably be the Universal Title match. Maybe even Jericho ending up being the guest ref for the match, tries costing Owens the title,HHH gets involved, costs Rollins the match, and it sets up HHH-Rollins and Jericho-Owens feuds.

I see New Day and TJ losing their titles with everyone else retaining. Three HIAC matches is a bit much.

Yeah, the Reigns/Rusev match is the only one where the feud has really escalated to a level where you would put them in a cell. Charlotte and Sasha could have gotten there, but it seems like they're ok with just having a HIAC match for the sake of having a Women's HIAC. Owens and Rollins is just a place holder feud for Rollins until HHH is back to get their program running so the HIAC really isn't needed if you ask me

The Hell in a Cell match does absolutely nothing for me anymore. Doesn't excite me at all. It has been completely overused for years.

The threat of blood/violence in these matches has been so neutered that I'm not even sure what the point is anymore.

As much as the card is fairly meh, I'm incredibly excited as I'm taking my son to see it in Boston. He's 8 right now, and in the exact same stage of "wrestling is my life" that I was in at his age, so I'm excited to see how much he enjoys it.

On the WWE Topps Slam game if you collect all HIAC cards, the awards are a bronze Sheamus and Cesaro. Did they give away the Tag Title match?

If Cesaro and Sheamus end New Day's reign I'll be aggravated. Why not The Club?

If they do win it'll be the Benoit/Angle segment from 2002 during the OG brand split. Those two had a long rivalry going against each other, and then went onto be named the first ever World Tag Team champions or whatever name they were using at the time. And then in 2 months after much bickering and fighting they will drop the belts on a random Raw.

Wouldn't doubt it. Just doesn't make any sense. But I'm a traditionalist when it comes to titles. I want legit teams to hold them. And when you have a reign for over 400 days, a feuding couple of guys shouldn't end that. The Usos and The Club couldn't do it but two guys who hate each other can?

They've really done a poor job with the build on the Women's Title match. They've been feuding for the better part of the last year and a half, going back to NXT and it's been one of the better rivalries in recent years. Why not promote the match as a way to end this bitter rivalry? Maybe they will end up going their separate ways after tonight but I feel like we're in for a rematch at Survivor Series unless they both get thrown in the elimination match

My guess on the ppv winners:
Reigns, Owens, Zayn, Sasha, Bayley, New Day, Gallows/Anderson

I'm probably only gonna watch Owens-Rollins,Sasha-Charlotte,Enzo/Cass vs Gallows/Anderson matches. Rest don't sound too interesting in terms of match itself, but winners at least I'll pay attention to on those other matches.
