Re: Raw 3/12/18: Where in the world is Brock Lesnar?

RAW was actually good tonight, and just a few things from me that stood out.

    1) This shoot angle they are going for with Roman/Brock is working the way WWE wanted it to. Now people on Twitter are complaining saying how "oh they are now using Vince to get him over". Well last time they used Vince to get Roman over, everyone cheered him then creative screwed that up a week later. Also Roman is suspended.... HMMMM

    2. Whatever is happening with Bayley/Sasha will come to a head in this Moolah Battle Royal with a Sasha/Bayley feud being a post Mania rivalry. I don't mind another memorial Battle Royal but 2 on one show? Why not do the Moolah one at Summer Slam while keeping the Andre one at Mania?

    3) Tonight did more for me in terms of wanting to cheer for Nia than having her cry last week. Now I want to see her beat the hell out of Alexa at Mania. On a side note, would love to see Carmella cash in on Alexa after Nia destroys Bliss(assuming she interferes in the Alexa/Asuka match next week) and Carmella becomes the RAW Women's Champion heading into Mania.

    4) I imagine there will be no answer from Taker until the go home show for Mania where Cena comes out thinking he has no opponent and issues an open challenge. Then Taker appears with a Choke Slam and boom match is set.

    5) Roman is "Suspended", well this is how they get Braun into the Universal Title Match. Angle will say that since Braun didn't have a tag partner his win didn't count but with Roman suspended Brock needs a new opponent. Therefore declaring Braun as the new challenger for Brock and the Universal Title. Then they'll do whatever they have planned to get Roman back in to make it a Triple Threat.

Sounds like I missed a pretty good show. Thank goodness I got John Pollock and Wai Ting to review the show for me on their podcast.

The Cena segment was awesome. I think we've reached the point where the "John Cena sucks" chants are about as cool and accurate as all the "this is awesome" BS.

Re: Raw 3/12/18: Where in the world is Brock Lesnar?

Looks like the WWE are going for shoot angles to get us hyped up for the big time matches for WM. Roman Reigns continues with this shoot angle of trashing Lesnar. Seeing him walk into the room where Vince talks through his headset was an image I never thought we see.

Cena's promo was very long but when he finally got to the point, it was good stuff. Calling out Undertaker about him working out on his wife's instagram was very shoot-ish. Enjoyed the Miz TV segment too as finally Balor and Rollins got to talk about their Title match from a long time ago. Their ensuing singles match was not bad either and I understand for the finish sequence too. Ton of Women's segments too and I didn't hate them all. They really are going to make us feel sympathy for Nia Jax's figure. I guess so. Feel like the crowd isn't hot for Asuka as much anymore either. The rest of the show was just whatever. The main event Battle Royal left me confused more than ever for the direction of everyone involved. I even forgot Cruiserweights used to be on this show.

Yeah “Cena Sucks” and booing Reigns is up there CM Punk chants and chanting the name of the announcers.

Side note. That was the first Raw I watched start to finish live without changing the channel in who knows how long. Really enjoyed every segment.

Damn.... look at Shane's face when Roman confronts Vince. He has that "If you touch my father, I will pull you out of the ring when you pin Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania" look on his face.

So how is this all going to work out with Asuka, does she only go to Smackdown if she wins at WrestleMania? I assumed she'd be off of Raw but she has a match next week

Okay I know this is getting a lot of love in here and I’ll be in a huge minority, but WWE is killing me right now with the John Cena and Roman Reigns storylines and their attempts to try and make them accessible.

Reigns cutting a promo about Brock being Vince’s boy and getting special treatment is hilarious when we all know about how Roman is in fact Vince’s guy and has headlined like what? 4 manias in a row? Despite the fans hating him he continues to get shoved down people’s throats. I don’t even hate Roman. I just think the promo is silly all things considered. If they’d of kept it at Roman shows up to work every night while Lesnar is a part timer I’d be with it. But they can miss me with the Vince’s boy stuff.

Meanwhile, Cena not having a road to Wrestlemania is just as silly (though he cut a hell of a promo on Taker.... I heart Cena... just hate the storyline). He acts like he’s Dolph Ziggler or just “one of the guys in the back” scrambling to get on the card. He’s calling out Taker for a shot at Mania, but the fact is, he IS the Undertaker. He’s an attraction so big that his spot on the card is cemented. So he being the only superstar crying about his “road” is just a silly storyline. I’m sorry. He could literally have almost any match he wants.

I will say that while the premise is silly, both competitors have knocked it out of the park with regards to their execution. So please don’t take this as hate. Just some interesting storyline choices in my opinion.

Funniest moment of entire show for me...
Kurt: I want you to be the one to ref the (Ultimate Deletion) match
Ref: Did I do something wrong?

Reigns part was good too, especially "breaking the fourth wall" going backstage and going at Vince while he's on the headset. And then Vince suspending Roman after all that. Won't mind if we don't get a single Reigns-Lesnar interaction before WM at all. Don't even think Lesnar needs to show up once between now and WM. That alone is the story. Champ cares so little about fans, he doesn't even bother to show up. Heyman could still be there but that's it.

Similarly with Cena/Taker, they really don't even need Undertaker there before the match itself. Though it would be cool to have Undertaker come out and go all out in a promo, taking shots at Cena and almost going out of character on the way he talks about Cena(and lockerroom).

Alexa-Nia feud is also gonna be a real good one too.

He wanted to do things the right way. Earn his spot at Wrestlemania. But since all those opportunities are now gone, he either does nothing and sits in crowd for WM, does something and "gets in trouble" and sits in crowd at WM, or gets his WM match.

But these shots from Cena at Undertaker were great. Mainly because this is a level to an Undertaker feud we don't ever get, ones that go beyond just the Undertaker character. The whole "workout videos on your wifes instagram page" was the big shot in this whole thing for me.

I doubt it will happen since his entrance is such a spectacle, but with Kid Rock going in the HOF I wouldn't mind seeing Cena vs The American Badass instead of the deadman gimmick

Good take, Streets. My thing is that neither storyline feels organic. It speaks to a much larger problem within WWE currently.
