That match is in the running for best television match in WWE history...

The only thing(s) that could have put it over the top is a better crowd and a title on the line....

Bliss was topless last night, Mandy was in lingerie tonight. I guess they really are pushing the envelope.

I like it. At least it’s something different(recycled).

I don’t think anything will ever top Punk/Cena on the Raw before WM where the busted out a piledriver but my god that match has got to be up there.

Yeah, but they busted out a Canadian Destroyer (which is technically a piledriver) for the second week in a row.

Yeah, that match with Cena/Punk had the highest of stakes but this match was better as pure in - ring wrestling.

So, is the Miz "turning" on Shane at the Rumble or after?!

I don't know who is turning on who but the fact they are closing the show with Miz vs Sheamus is an odd choice. I just hate the fact this is going to lead to Miz being wasted in a pointless match with Shane at Mania.

I know I need to suspend my belief but ******* pal, that hotel segment was severely lacking some logic. Like Naomi couldn’t just go back and see exactly what happened if she wasn’t there

Re: The WWE SD Live WEEKLY Thread

At least they did resolve the hotel stuff immediately. Having multiple WWE cameras in the room during a moment Mandy is trying to frame Jimmy made no sense. Having Naomi come in right after was a good thing. I was expecting it to go differently though. Like Jimmy giving Naomi the key, so when Mandy expects him to be at the door she finds out its Naomi. That or Jey posing as Jimmy.

Like people said, Bliss last night and now Mandy tonight. I have no issues with any of these things. People need to relax. I get we're in an overly PC world, but can people just sit back and enjoy things instead of complaining about every possible risqué thing. You're watching a show where people settle all their problems by fighting and use mild profanity when speaking. You can't pick and choose the things you are offended by when watching that type of product.

Both shows this week I like how they're adding more "fun moments". Ones fans can legitimately laugh at and enjoy. It's better watching a show when you can tell the superstars are enjoying themselves and having fun with what they're doing VS just showing up, following a script and doing it all over again show after show.

It's weird, I've noticed this thing where people who loved the 1990s Attitude Era when they grew up (or were teens) now look at back it really negatively, because they are looking at it through the lens of 2019.

It's like how people who have kids now are trying to shield their kids from the R-rated type of stuff that they watched when they were younger. Instead of just being like, "well I watched crazy stuff like that when I was a kid, and I grew up normal." I guess every generation does that to an extent.

We can't be sure she'd see it. They never showed her standing and watching the backstage TV at a weird angle.

Not just in WWE but people in general. It's rewriting history basically to fit modern standards. I'm sure there's things we do today that in 20 years from now might be looked down on. Does that mean this history should be rewritten as well ?

Obviously there's things to learn from the past, but trying to ignore it, or replace it with PC stuff makes no sense.

It's also funny when people hold things to different standards. WWE having the backstage guy walk in on Alexa like that rubbed some people the wrong way. If that same moment happens on a PG sitcom, nobody bats an eye.

That's a problem that WWE has which at times they seem to fall for. Stressing about appeasing everyone when that's redundant. People view WWE as fake, but if they do anything edgy/risqué, suddenly they become real and more than just a fake tv show, despite having a similar edginess factor as any regular PG cable or network show.

I swear if I was in WWE I would beg them to have me do one of those backstage shots. Then when I was on camera I'd start rubbing my neck in pain, and really play up how dumb and unnatural it is.

I never got that. Just randomly standing there by yourself, watching the screen at a weird angle.

Does that even serve any purpose? Breaking news, WWE superstars watch WWE, especially when someone they're feuding with is on tv. It's one of the suggestions I had for the "new WWE". Throw everything out the window, especially those cheesy cliches. Build up a new style of shows from scratch using the knowledge and experience everyone backstage has.

It's just a simple way for them to communicate to the viewer (and usually foreshadow) that whoever is watching is tied to the match going on.

They've done some variation of it forever because it just works though. Early-mid 90's Raw was similar to today. Attitude Era did a lot of "guy watches from the stage!" and angles shot from behind the TV someone was watching. Now we're back to the "person watches monitor" phase.

It's not the most innovative scene, but it gets the point across.

Yeah, It's not that It's pointless or useless, just that It's something we've seen over and over. I feel like since around 2009-2010 we've seen these exact same shots and ideas over and over.

Is there another 8-9 year run of a wrestling show or product that has changed as little as Raw has? Not talking about the actual wrestlers, but the formula of how the show is presented and plays out. Compare WWF in 1991 to 2000, for example. Or WCW 1988-1997. Hell, there are runs of 3-4 years that feel like night and day.

Wait, you guys don't watch RAW and Smackdown standing up watching the TV at that same angle? I find it helps me get immersed in the show
