    Re: AEW Discussion Thread

WWE aren't stupid. They knew if The Bucks signed there's a decent chance they'd probably fall in line like everyone else. They'd enjoy touring in front of bigger houses, being bigger stars on social media, and just sort of grin and bear the dumb booking. The 6 month out part isn't as crazy as it sounds in that context.

And WWE can throw AJ Styles money at them with zero problem, because it would mean taking away Elite competition from other promotions.

You make it so sound so simple to turn down #MillionsOfDollars while being on the biggest stage.

If that's what they offered the Bucks, who I still don't really get their appeal as major stars, what the hell did they offer Kenny Omega?

So the “letters from H” in the BTE videos were not too far from the truth lol.

And I must say, Frankie Kazarian played a good H

The only thing I don't believe is the 6 month out clause. There's no reason that Vince would allow one of the hottest acts in Indie wrestling after he brought them in just because they weren't happy after 6 months. Hell he's being cautious about releasing guys like Tye Dillinger, and Tyler Breeze.

Well, aside from what I said, The Bucks do not want to work and travel the WWE schedule. They have families and don't have that mentality. They've been saying that for years and years. Also I'm sure Cody told them all about WWE's creative and the frustration.

WOW.......... that's crazy the Young Bucks would turn that down. I mean go get a Mania under your belt and you can opt out months later? I'm surprised they didn't take that offer even with them starting AEW. Hell, take the money and use Vince's money against him and invest it in AEW.

I'm still hoping for Omega to show up in WWE this year but I have my doubts.

I watched Omegas WK13 match last night on AXS. First match of his I’ve seen. I’ll admit he was way more charismatic in the ring than I was anticipating. He seems like a natural heel in the way that Punks charisma in the ring was better suited to a heel. What’s Omega like as a face? Does he do similar talking and facial things?

Yeah, he's not much different as a face. Back when he first started with the Bullet Club he was a super maniacal heel, and then when he feuded with Cody he shifted into a babyface, especially when he re-formed The Golden Lovers, and then won the IWGP title and did the SF show.

When he did the feud with Tanahashi he had to primarily be a heel, and criticize Tanahashi in promos and interviews.

I've always been a WWE guy and always want the top stars to sign there. But I'm kinda happy all those guys turned them down. I mean there would be no AEW without what they are doing. And I wanna see something fresh and new.

I want competition. I hope Omega goes to AEW as well. Even though it would be awesome if he went to WWE he will be AEW's top guy and if they want a chance to succeed they need him in my opinion.

The latest on a TV deal for AEW is that there are two networks bidding for the rights to air AEW. One network is offering more money while the other network has more exposure. Meltzer also says the discussions with the Network include airing a LIVE two hour show every week.

So...The Elite screwed up with All In real bad, like real real bad. They allowed ROH to keep the broadcast rights to the show.

Live shows I feel will be the important part here. Even WWE when their TV ratings were high, any non live show always had a noticeably smaller viewership number.

Hopefully it's a TV deal that'd be beyond just USA. Sure people in other countries can just find other ways to watch it online, but it's way more convenient for lazier people to just have it on TV rather than find a stream or clicking on abunch of links/going through pop up ads before getting to the video.

That's one thing a US based wrestling company should be looking at if they want to get more viewers. While TNA didn't do so great attendance wise in the US, look at the attendance at shows in places like London. Utilize something we don't see WWE doing so often anymore (holding TV/PPV events outside the US)

It's up on NJPW World too. It was on Honor Club originally, so It's not surprising. And no one has gone after people uploading it to YouTube. I don't think anyone is really worried too much about how people are able to view that show.

That's not the problem, the problem is that AEW would probably have to either 1) Buy the rights to that footage and that's if Sinclair is willing to part with it and 2) They won't be able to show any of that footage on future shows without Sinclair's permission.
