Or he gets COVID, that kills his initial push, you try to re-package him (whether that was the right or wrong decision doesn't matter) after he's off tv (fighting for his life) for 5 months, he moves like he's stuck in molasses upon his return, his cardio has clearly been negatively effected by COVID, he never buys into the re - packaging and then they decide to let him go.
Now, Karrion Kross just needed to be pushed and showcased like on NXT, but Keith Lee's circumstances (and alleged backstage complaining/"issues") were much, much different.
I appreciate and like the "Limitless" shtick/gimmick, yet I also think he needs to be willing to move beyond it and cut better promos and be menacing in the ring.
Plus, this is only night one so I think we need to wait sometime before we call his run in AEW a success. Will Tony Khan continue to give him short matches or will he start doing his regular 20 minute television affairs? Is Keith Lee going to look like his pre - COVID self or will he need to do a more "toned down" style?
Can Keith Lee show any range or is the Limitless stuff his only go - to? Will he cut any decent promos or just be silent while coming to the ring and kicking ***?
All the same issues exist with him and I'm hopeful he can prove the doubters and his former employer wrong.
