Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
Ah okay. It makes it slightly less bad. Thanks for the clarification. I should've noticed the date being in the middle of the week but couldn't get past the name.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
I have only wanted AEW to do well but this is probably one of the worst-named PPVs ever, right there next to WWE's This Tuesday In Texas in 1991.
Great Balls of Fire could be a close second.
Oof. Someone must've given Tony Khan a bad batch of coke recently or something. Geez.
(Terrible joke, but I had to do it with them spelling Boston with an extra 's.') [emoji38][emoji38][emoji28][emoji28]

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
Is it better to announce these shows and make it obvious who is going to debut, or to have it be a legit surprise out of the blue? As someone who doesn't watch every week anymore, I feel like announcements like this give me zero incentive to go back to that.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
AEW, TNT/TBS would love announcing it beforehand because it has people talking leading up to the show, but most importantly, it has people tuning in LIVE for the show.Comment

Adam Copeland in the "I've been competing since before you were born" phase.
Daniel Garcia was born September 1998.
Edge was facing Owen Hart on PPV in September 1998 (which he'd lose thanks to a debuting Christian).Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
Stings final match is now a tornado tag match.
A bit of an interesting stipulation though. His final match, you would think every time he gets tagged in would be a huge moment, but now the match is almost like two matches in one, with less of the focus being on Sting, and the camera possibly missing some moments since you have to try showing both parts of the match at once.Comment

I honestly am turned off to AEW due to Tony's booking choices.

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
I watch all the weekly shows with AEW with my son, who just loves wrestling etc. All of AEW is just a tough follow for me, the random matches, feeling like a random indy match at a local gym down the road etc. Again, could just be me but I try to get into it and just can't.

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
Feels like AEW is starting to turn things around, the Hangman/Swerve feud has been great. That promo last week where both just tell each other off, while Joe is just like, I'm going to beat the both of you. Toni Storm has been amazing in her new Timeless Toni Character, Matt and Nick embracing the EVP roles they have and giving themselves an actual character or gimmick outside of a tag team who does 5 star matches every week.
AEW is finally understanding you need characters and personas that make people want to tune in. Whether you want to see someone win or see someone get beat, it's just not about the wrestling in ring, it's so much more.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
Commentators already pointing out a flaw in the rankings.
Mox/Claudio are ranked higher than FTR in the tag division (even Top Flight are) because FTR has competed in a number of trios matches so their tag numbers suffered.
They're definitely saving Christian vs Copeland 2 (technically 3) for the Toronto Dynamite in a month.Last edited by Majingir; 02-21-2024, 10:18 PM.Comment

Man, I hope that Madison Rayne didn't break her neck on that wicked (I think) STO. She landed head first and couldn't get her hands down to cushion the fall.

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
Where the **** has this Wardlow been for 2 years? This guy has the look, can go in the ring, and can apparently cut an intense promo ([emoji1474] on that one), yet hasn't done anything meaningful since he squashed MJF.
Why isn't he a monster heel champion, although Khan seems to be allergic to pushing big guys.

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
Loved that Wardlow promo...nothing wrong with having a monster just tearing through everyone.
The roster is going to be so bloated if Okada/Mone both show up, along with Ospreay coming in. Returns of Britt, Jamie Hayter, Adam Cole, and MJF coming up, and hopefully freeing Jay White from multi-man match hell just adds to it.
