The show had a few awesome moments, so can't really complain. Sammy's insane ladder spot, and Danhausen, being the highlights for me.

It took me a bit to "get" the Danhausen gimmick but watching his YouTube channel made me a fan. I just don't think doing that in Cleveland was the best place to do it with Chicago next week during the Punk/MJF match .His interactions with MJF on his YouTube channel at signings is hilarious, especially since MJF stays true to his character.

Would have got a better reaction in Chicago but I think that's where it could bite AEW being focused completely on the hardcore fans. To hardcore fans who watch ROH, know the Independent Scene and all kinds of Wrestling, we know who Danhausen is and get the gimmick and character but to casuals they don't know him and that becomes a problem. Clearly guys like Bryan, Punk, Sting and other big names in Pro Wrestling aren't bringing in new viewers despite the name recognition which AEW is solely relying on to do so. I mean look at Adam Cole, brought in as a lackey to Omega in The Elite and now reduced to facing Orange Cassidy? Yes I know it's building to The Bucks/Omega vs Undisputed at some point when Omega returns but his booking hasn't been this great booking fans thought it would be.

WWE of course has the same problem, they use guys like Brock, Rock, Austin and other legends to pop a rating but the newer guys just aren't bringing in new viewers, let alone keeping them watching beyond reunion shows. I'm all for Danhausen signing with AEW but to keep insisting that the fans know who someone is, AEW has got to find a way to bring people in and introduce them to the casual audience.

Man, you're overthinking it. Did you enjoy it? That's all that matters. Let Tony Khan worry about the other stuff.

              What a promo by MJF.

He ****ing ran circles around Punk tonight.

And Punk's rebuttal was exactly what John Cena would say. Exactly who he claims to hate or think was bad for the business all those years ago. Remember the line about Cena becoming the New York Yankees? Hilarious. Talk about Cena fan service there with his response.

Had to be intentional. Glad to see people online noticed the same thing. It wasn't subtle.

That TNT Title Ladder Match was sick. Some nice spots and holy hell that Swanton Bomb onto Cody had to hurt Sammy. This match did get me on the edge of my seat as I wonder if Cody was going to win or give it back to Sammy. Glad Sammy got the win back. Is in the Inner Circle still alive? I hardly see them together. CM Punk/MJF needs to hurry up and end. That promo was fine but there's only so much you can keep doing until you finally get physical with each other. And that Britt Baker promo didn't get anywhere but I understand why she did it. She's from Pittsburgh and the Steelers had the Browns' number in the NFL this year. Main event match was fine. But I thought the finish was kinda corny. Overall decent show for AEW this week.

                    Random thoughts:

Can't wait for Mox/Danielson...should be a great match.

Brock Anderson is the default CAW in any game and I care absolutely nothing about him for that reason.

I don't know or get the Danhausen thing...is it a meme? I know I'm old but this is too niche for me.

When Hangman beats Archer in a dud, who's his next opponent? Cody? Especially because it will be the March PPV match. The main event scene is a cluster mess right now.

Really hope MJF goes over. Seems to be a trend that all the WWE guys are getting their first losses (Danielson and Adam Cole) and hope Punk does as well.

I just love AEW. It's made wrestling so much fun after losing interest in WWE again (coming back to that during peak NXT, having left the first time post WrestleMania X-Sevenish in college).

Danhausen is kind of an internet sensation. He's been wrestling on the independent scene since 2013 and got signed by Ring of Honor in 2019. He's solid, but not spectacular in the ring. He won't wow you, but it's not going to be a disaster either.

His character though became an internet sensation. Think of it as a cross between Conan O'Brien and Mark Hamill's Joker.

Is he a meme? Most definitely.

I don't get it at all either, but people seem to like it and he's found ways to make some money with it, so who am I to judge?

                          Re: AEW Dynamite Thread

I've spent hours and hours on his youtube channel. Just watching his interviews and unboxings. I vaguely remember watching him wrestling on the indies just before AEW started. He is a gimmick and half. His in-ring is minimal at best lol. But he has the entertainment part down at least.

There's something so pro wrestling about a guy creating a weird character and committing to it on all platforms. His character is niche, but I think if you showed a non-wrestling fan one of his skits or matches they would be more entertained than they would watching some of the matches on TV nowadays that play it more straight but deliver zero intensity/memorability.

Just keep him away from Sting and Darby, we don't need a face paint faction in the sea of factions that is AEW. [emoji23]

Here's a match nobody was expecting.

                              Mox vs Brian Kendrick.

I never knew Kendrick was still wrestling, and wasn't part of WWE anymore. He was on TV last month in the angle with Harland/Gacy.

I remember reading he had requested his release a week or two ago. He was mostly working backstage.

But gets granted his release and booked on Dynamite in the span of a few hours? That’s impressive.
