    not again Jake!!!!!!

Former WWE Star Jake 'The Snake' Roberts Arrested For Cocaine
    January 16, 2005 - Source: PWInsider
We have received word that former WWF and WCW superstar Jake Roberts has been arrested in Georgia this week for possession of cocaine after a search of his hotel room turned up a crack pipe and residue. According to a report in the Main Street News, Sheriff Charles Chapman made the search (with Roberts' consent) after a woman claiming to be his girlfriend was stopped by authorities and allegedly had drugs in her possession. She pointed the authorities in the direction of Roberts’ hotel room, claiming there were more narcotics there. The news of his arrest isn't really surprising to anyone who saw Barry Blaustein's "Beyond the Mat" documentary, but is still sad to hear about.

Damn, Jake. Get it together, man.

How much longer before we can add his name to the long list of 40-something wrestlers who passed on? Sad.

This man is a tortured soul.

You know he was once considered a great wrestling mind. In fact people were talking about him being a great booker for WWE or what have you. Sadly his life has spiraled out of control. In fact one can pinpoint it to a match against Honky Tonk Man where HTM used a real guitar and knocked Jake out with it. Now Jake was already a bit messed up but that hit was the beginning of Jake descent into a hellish existence.

Its a miracle he's made it this long.

                    Yes it is.

He used to be one of my favorites as a kid. Is it me, or does it seem like pro wrestlers always(well a lot of them) have a ton of troubles in their life?

It's a tough life, ya know? Constantly, you're on the road, away from the people who love you. You have to deal with constant aches and pains, sometimes drugs and alcohol is the best way to provide temporary relief. One thing leads to another and these guys get hooked on it.

It's really very sad but it makes me appreciate guys like Ric Flair and Arn Anderson even more. Here we have two guys who've been doing it for a very long time. Yes, I'm sure the two of them have downed their fair share of drugs and alcohol, but it didn't get out of control and they both lead very respectable, mature lives outside the ring today.
