Re: AEW Revolution (March 6th, 2022)
And in AEW it might not matter that the pinner has his feet near/underneath the ropes to pin an opponent, but I'm just going by the "rules" I recall.
It was a bloody mess and they did what was necessary storyline wise.

Re: AEW Revolution (March 6th, 2022)
My bad, I mixed up the ending of Moxley/Danielson mixed up with Punk/MJF. Mox had his feet under/near the ropes but the way the ref positioned themselves to count it didn't "matter."

It’s all good.
I did notice that in the Mox/Danielson match, especially when there was a match earlier in the night where Aubrey stopped a pinfall early in the match for that very reason.

Re: AEW Revolution (March 6th, 2022)
I suppose “irritating” or “trolling” would be words to describe the same couple of guys that pick apart everything related to AEW while praising WWE to the point of even complimenting Johnny Knoxville’s performance. It’s laughable but tonight I reminded myself of the functionality of the “ignore” function on these forums.
Thoroughly enjoyed tonight’s event and looking forward to attending live in New Orleans next month.
but yeah, before i go too long, wrestling fans just like complaining, easier to just let them be and focus on the stuff you like.
PPV was excellent as I expected.Support Local Sports

If I can move past that period of my wrestling fandom other people can too. Spent too many years hate-watching WWE. If you dislike 80% of what you see you shouldn't be watching it.Comment

AEW Revolution (March 6th, 2022)
Quoting Sting from after last night’s show, talking about his haters. The ending also applies in multitudes to my opinion.
“I don't know of any. There are out there, I guess. I don't mean that in a prideful or arrogant way. I'm sure, there have always been (doubters) my whole career, even as a young man. There will always be people out there who will hate you no matter what, you're never going to be able to do the right thing in their eyes. There will always be those people. I think wrestling fans seem to be very respectful and see that, at my age, I'm taking risks out there and I want it to be good and I wanted to be an entertainer and I'm having fun. What would I say to the pessimists, just tune me off when I'm on, watch something else.”Comment

Re: AEW Revolution (March 6th, 2022)
A great PPV, but like others said, it did go on a bit too long.
I get AEW wants to have a stacked card, but you can't stuff it to the point where it's just too much to consume, and you're not letting each match fully sink in. As soon as one match is done, you almost go right into the next one, and not much time for video packages either.
From this card, I'd get rid of the tornado tag and TBS title match. Show is closer to 3.5 hrs at that point.
But there were so many great matches.
Jericho/Kingston, Ladder match, Danielson/Mox (Regal debut!), Punk/MJF, Adam/Adam!Comment

AEW Revolution (March 6th, 2022)
Not going to lie…I’ve watched this several times. Having watched ROH back in those formative years, I never thought I would see the Second City Saint return to the ring.
He debuted that entrance theme for his dog-collar match against Raven. Also, Paul Turner, who was the ref for Punk and MJF, was also the ref for that Punk/Raven match.
Hit me right in the nostalgia feels.

I'm sorry that me enjoying psychology and nuance in my wrestling is bothersome to so many on OS. Unfortunately, for the people upset I "troll and complain" too much my favorite wrestler is working in AEW.
And I still want the company to breakthrough to a bigger audience and really round out its edges, yes they exist, so wrestling can get to a bigger stage. It's become far too niché and the audience (or at least the hardcore) too sensitive to criticism of it.
I'll also make sure to be harsher and tougher on the other company for not being more reckless with their in-ring style and such too.

Re: AEW Revolution (March 6th, 2022)
Are their Sting haters right now? I mean I guess I’m sure there are cause wrestling fans gonna wrestling fan. But even people who get annoyed at legends taking time from younger guys can’t get annoyed cause he’s not part time and AEW manages to fit 40,000 people on every card with all the factions and post match run ins so everyone’s getting their time anyway.

Re: AEW Revolution (March 6th, 2022)
Two types of wrestling fans out there. Professional wrestling fans and people who only grew up on WWE.
Within those two groups are the extremists who “hope WWE go out of business” and “everything outside of WWE is garbage.” They are also the loudest on Twitter (much like politics).
The only internet community out there that is more toxic is the heavy metal community, and shame on you if you’ve never listened to heavy negative wizard metal.
I grew up loving WWF/E. But I also watched WCW. I remember having to sneak watch during the Attitude Era because my overly religious parents were appalled by Austin 3:16.
The point, if there ever was one, is I love professional wrestling. I’ve gone to local Indy shows where you know the wrestling is going to be horrible to WWE and AEW.
I stopped watching WWE several years ago because I wasn’t getting any enjoyment out of it. I also don’t go out of my way to bash them. Life is too short to be toxic all the time. Doesn’t mean that AEW is perfect. They have their own issues.
In a perfect world, both WWE and AEW can be successful and you can enjoy them both. Unfortunately, there’s too much us vs them in all walks of life.

Re: AEW Revolution (March 6th, 2022)
As someone who doesn't watch any wrestling shows weekly and only tunes in for big events now, this is my casual lenses on both promotions:
AEW: Longterm storytelling, W/L seem to actually matter, seems more pure and not over-produced largely thanks to not having scripted promos or 1,000,000 LED lights and boards. With that said, I'm watching the main event and the 90s/early 00s fan in me just can't believe these two small dudes are in the main event for the heavyweight title and I don't see the appeal in either of them. They legitimately seem like two dorks cosplaying as wrestlers. I guess I'm with Vince on this, I'd rather see Wardlow, Keith Lee, Powerhouse Hobbs, those kinds of dudes in my heavyweight title feuds.
WWE: I don't think they plan very much longterm, maybe some stuff here and there but it's well known they change stuff on the fly all the time. W/L definitely don't matter and we see the same guys wrestling on a PPV having already wrestled at least 5x before their PPV match in one way or another. Over-scripted and overproduced, it just feels like some weird show rather than a wrestling card. With that said, their main event guys definitely have more of a big deal and star feel to them. Reigns, Lesnar, Cena (though I know he's basically gone nowadays), McIntyre, etc. Their main event guys feel like main event guys if that makes sense.
Both are fine and obviously we're all at different stages of my life but neither is worth investing my time on a weekly basis right now. WWE now I'm only watching Rumble, WM, Summerslam, and maybe MITB...couldn't care less about any other event they put on. AEW only have 4 PPVs and I can watch them at the movie theater for $20 so that's doable and enjoyable, though Revolution did drag on way too long IMO.Comment
