Don't ask why it took me 2 hours into the 3 hour show, but I just realized they have the blue canvas now.

I know it moves away from the traditional ring mat, but I've always liked the different mats. NXT black and gold era with the black mat and yellow (and white for takeover) ropes was one of my fave ring designs ever.

Still would've preferred the coloured ropes though, but blue mat is nice.

Wonder if that means red mat for Raw.

That's one thing you know will happen one day, probably real soon (like Monday) and it'll suck. Especially being on Netflix, they can probably put more ads during the show since they're not restricted by local sponsors or any of that. If anything, maybe they'll make it like how MLB and others have where they'll digitally add in the ads based on whichever country is watching.

They already have done a variation already during themed matches (like the Mountain Dew and Slim Jim ones), but I'm surprised they haven't utilized the barricade/LED wall outside the ring like hockey and soccer do with their digital wall/boards of ads. You could have a match sponsored by a company, or just have a rotating selection throughout the match (though that is the one thing about the NHL ads I hate is how it changes DURING play, unlike MLB for instance where it might only change between innings or between ABs, not mid pitch).

Edit-Apparently it's already been planned and will debut Monday with a black mat with ads.

So will Monday be a terrible buffer-fest like the Tyson fight and the NFL games, or will it be worth it to resubscribe?

Also will Netflix in the US become basically the new WWE Network with the old content, or will that still be Peacock?

Raw won't get 50m viewers so it'll be fine.

Long term it will be. Short term the rights are still split since WWE still has the deal with Peacock while also having the Netflix deal.

The leaked ring mat for Raw looks exactly how you'd expect a ring mat filled with ads to look.

By comparison, the prime logo doesn't seem so bad anymore. I hoped with the SD ring change that it meant we'd just see black or white ads on the mat, but seeing all those different colours and logos just scattered around the mat like boxing and ufc, it looks ugly.

That's one reason I don't mind the NBA ads on a jersey, it's colour coordinated.

I never had any issues with Netflix during their NFL games.

Yeah the Tyson thing was a mess. But it’s not like they wouldn’t have learned and evolved/upgraded to accommodate live events going forward.

HHH confirms Raw won't have a fixed run time. It'll be flexible based on what Netflix wants/how much time is needed to fit everything in on the show.

In his eyes, he says 2.5 hours would be the ideal length. Which if true, I think that's a good run time too. SD is now 3 hours but given it has ads, even internationally as we saw last night, it's really about 2 hours and 5 mins of the actual show.

Raw at 2.5 ad free, but we'll likely still have the typical wweshop ads and things like that, I could see it really just being about 2 hours of the actual show as well.

This week for instance I do see it going 3 hours since its a stacked show, but I don't see the average show being as long as this week will be.

If it was colour matched to the ring (like white ads on the black mat) it wouldn't be as bad, but all diff logos like that stick out poorly.
