I don't know about anyone else, but I am REALLY excited for tonight.


The first 3-Hour Era Smackdown I thought was very good. I enjoyed the blue mat. The wrestling was solid. Now new year to get those storylines going.


This Raw on Netflix debut feels like a PPV, and Triple H saying these shows could be 40 minutes or 4 hours with limited commercials (for now), has me thinking literally anything could happen!


Plus, we just have an amazing card tonight.

Roman vs. Solo in Tribal Combat
Punk vs. Seth
The Rock
John Cena
Logan Paul

Next week we will have the first ever women's Intercontinental Champion decided.

Tonight has the Raw 25, Raw 30, Raw 1000 type of show feel to it.

The biggest unknown is the actual show length, but I really think tonight will be a longer show than the average so if it goes over 3 hours for instance, people shouldn't freak out.

Welp, resubscribed to Netflix this morning.

Hopefully it's a smooth watch tonight, or I might have to go back to watching highlights on TikTok.

Tonight is definitely going to be more watched than the average show, but even that shouldn't be too bad in terms of stream reliability.

I don't have Netflix, but once the interface is user friendly I'll be happy. Only thing I've heard is not able to resume where you left off on a live stream so if you exit the stream you have to manually find where you left off from.

Seems like the US broadcast will have ads but the international one won't.

It'll still be fewer breaks than the USA Network airing.

Guess we'll find out how it works by tonight. I'm going for the premium subscription for now anyways to avoid any ads playing before or after any on demand content, or possibly having a PLE with unskippable ads.


HHH also said SD will eventually go back to 2 hours. I like that move. 3 is overkill. 2 hours is fine, then 2.5 ad free for Raw is good.


He said foreseeable future so it could mean anything. September-December definitely should be 2 hours, but maybe now until Summerslam is 3? Or do they scale back on it for May/June during playoffs and then summer time it's back to 3, then the fall is back to 2?

Cole on McAfee show mentions that tonight they'll be "dumbing it down"(I'm paraphrasing) for the casual fan for anyone who is new to WWE or hasn't watched in ages, but his job will be doing so without insulting the regular viewer. So it'll feel almost like a series premiere, except most already know people's backstory.

Sounds like it's still on Peacock in the US due to their deal, but once it expires next year then everything moves over to Netflix.

No time limits on segments anymore means Rock can do a 5 minute long entrance.

New ref shirts too.

Don't think Raw has ever changed ref shirts? Last time it was the SD refs with the blue shirts and ECW got black shirts.

Now Raw refs get black shirts. I liked the old school SD ones better than this one.

Early on, doesn't feel like the video or audio quality has changed much on Netflix vs the TV ones?

30 minutes into the show before the first match starts, I'm not complaining. Didn't even feel like 30 mins with no ads.

First ad break 30 mins in to the show, but it's a video package for the match.

Isn't that still kayfabe though? Rock and Cody after WM did have a weird exchange, so not like this is different from their last interaction in a big way.

Will take some getting used to for sure. You don't notice is as much from the hard cam since it's slightly angled. I do like the black mat though. I said it before, colour coordinated ones look better. The Netflix and fortnite logos blend in. The snickers, Riyadh season and others don't look good because it doesn't match.

It reminds me of the NHL rule where they used to allow different coloured ads on their boards but one season decided if anyone wants to advertise on their boards, it must blend in (as in the background of the logo/ad must be white like the boards)
