Re: Official WWE 2K15 How's Your Universe Mode Going?

    Random question..
Is it possible to set my universe this way?

    Raw Major- Heavyweight Belt
    Raw Minor- Intercontinental

    Smackdown Major- Intercontinental

    Smackdown Minor- US Title

I did this for 2k14 with a workaround I found somewhere which involved me deleting the Smackdown Brand and vacating the Intercontinental Title to trick the system. I wish I had bookmarked it for times like this

The Extreme Rules card is set!

WWE World Heavyweight Championship match: Brock Lesnar (c) vs John Cena -

Two years on from their brutal contest at the same event, Cena and Lesnar resume battle at the first PPV of the new season.

Damien Sandow vs Dolph Ziggler (c) - Intercontinental Championship:

After trading wins in consecutive Smackdown main events, the Savior battles The Showoff for the gold.

Goldust and Stardust vs Erick Rowan and Luke Harper - number one contenders' match for the WWE Tag Team Championship -

Bray Wyatt got involved after Harper and Rowan defeated The Rhodes Brothers the night after Wrestlemania. The Eater of Worlds brutally assaulted Cody, leading to the Dashing One adopted a strange new persona, the mysterious and dangerous Stardust. The winners will challenge the champs at the next PPV, but will The Rhodes' have a chance of making it if Wyatt is lurking at ringside?

AJ Lee vs Summer Rae - Divas Championship:

The former 'Queen of NXT' gets a shot at AJ's title, and Summer's athleticism coupled with her devious nature could net her a first title in WWE.

The Usos vs Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns - WWE Tag Team Championship:

The Shield challenges for it's first title in a while against the Usos in what should be a thriller.

Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan - Extreme Rules match:

The Viper clashes with the man who deleted his Evolution stablemate at Wrestlemania 30. Bryan has been defiant ever since being stripped of the WWE Championship, and he looks to put Orton in his place in an Extreme Rules match.

Cesaro vs Sami Zayn vs Tyson Kidd: Triple Threat Number 1 contender match for the Intercontinental Championship:
The Canadian technician Tyson Kidd, the Swiss Superman Cesaro, and El Generico's protégé Sami Zayn battle it out to face the winner of Ziggler and Sandow at the next event.

Re: Official WWE 2K15 How's Your Universe Mode Going?

        Long Read ahead:
First time with universe mode and I am making it up as I go along.

90% of the time I only watch matches and let them unfold.

First ppv saw Undertaker win the title from Brock in a triple threat match with Orton in the mix. The triple threat was unplanned. On Raw Orton beat Cena in a #1 contender match. Then Taker beat someone for the same so I was kinda forced.

Kane won the IC belt from Dolph and their rivalry has exploded and is now in the 3rd month. Dolph won the title back and they are set up for another rematch. Good stuff here.

Wyatt won the US belt but has not done much since. Partly because other prospective challengers are involved in other things and also because the top contenders are...Luke Harper and Eric Rowan. Eh. Thinking about setting the stage for a 3x3 rivalry that would end in a Seth heel turn and the breakup of shield. Its brilliant right? :P

The tag team division is...problematic. The Usos ran off a winning streak and now their momentum makes them tough to beat. Jimmy is a 97 at the moment I believe. Need to figure out what to do with this.

My main even rivalries are pretty good. After Taker won the belt(s) from Brock I changed titles. Instead of the single unified belt I gave Taker both single championships. I'll see where this goes.

Smackdown: Taker is in a good rivalry with Punk. I started with the sore loser story that resulted in Punk turning heel and defeating Taker at payback (non title bout). After that he was #1 contender and is in the midst of a rivalry with Taker. Good stuff so far.

RAW: Cena and Orton are in a long rivalry and it is looking good so far. My only regret is not manually setting a ally for Orton beforehand. The game auto-assigned Fandango off all people. He is no headliner!!

My tentative plan moving ahead is for Taker to retain his title and Cena to beat Orton. Then push Cena for the HW title and move Punk to RAW and run the special story for them. Then have Brock on Smackdown pushing for Taker's belt in a long feud that may main event at WM.

I've got several custom guys I plan to push in the coming months. One is my mycareer guy and the only guy who I typically actually control. He is currently in his first ever push, the aggression storyline vs Sami Zayn. I am going to bury Sami and over the next year continue to build him up, culminating in winning the belt as the leader of a corporation/evolution style faction. Depending on storylines possible, I will eventually run the change of heart type story where a diva "turns" him to a face. Then have a fellow member of the faction turn on him for becoming soft (so he fell in love with AJ, who wouldn't?). Probably will be Seth or Orton.

That line will take some imagination on my part due to lack of factional storylines (major bummer).

Here is the gist of it:
something develops between him (named Revan, kudos to those who know where that comes from) and a Diva (AJ most likely, possibly Paige if they release her in time). she acts as manger and escorts him to a major ppv title bout. during the course of the match she is inadvertently hurt and this distracts him resulting in losing the belt.

On the next RAW the stable mate accuses him of being soft and losing the belt over a woman and assaults him, injuring him and putting him on the shelf for several months. Of course he returns and it kicks off a epic rivalry.

shame I will have to fill in the blanks myself on this due to limited story options.

Good read. Most of the time I also watch the matches unless I have a storyline in mind. I also use my imagination to make up for the lack of some storylines.

I finished Backlash last night, and it was a much better PPV than Bad Blood.

To open the show, former Intercontinental Champion Booker T faced Alberto Del Rio and Kane in a triple threat match. The winner would earn an Intercontinental Championship match. Kane emerged victorious, choking Booker T out to win the match.

The makeshift team of Cesaro and Damien Sandow defended their Tag Team Championship against Los Matadores. In a great back and forth match, Sandow got the pinfall, allowing his team to retain.

Dust Bros (Stardust and Goldust) challenged Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to a match. The match was made a no-DQ contest. Roman Reigns was setting up for a spear on Goldust when ,shockingly, Seth Rollins entered the ring and delivered several sickening chair-shots to his partner. Rollins hit the Curb Stomp on Reigns and walked out, allowing Stardust to eventually pin Reigns.

Tyson Kidd and Jack Swagger put on a great match. Kidd has attacked Swagger several times these past few weeks, making this one personal. Thos was a fantastic match. Kidd looked poised to win, but Swagger countered the Code Blue into a Gutwrench Powerbomb to win. (I was playing as Kidd and really wanted to win here, but I'm playing on legend, and Swagger just would not stay down. I have a way, in my imagination, of how I'll continue the feud.

Shawn Michaels defeated Steve Austin in a #1 contender match for the WWE Championship.

Dolph Ziggler retained his Intercontinental Championship against his rival, the Miz, in a good back and forth contest.

The main event saw WWE Champion Triple H defend against King of the Ring winner Ultimate Warrior. Triple H won the title at Bad Blood by beating Randy Orton with a roll-up. Randy Orton has attacked Triple H several times, making the champion's life hell. I hoped this one would be a better match and it really was. The two threw everything they had at each other. Warrior kicked out of a Pedigree, Triple H kicked out of the Warrior Splash. The end came when the referee was knocked down and Randy Orton charged the ring. Orton looked like he was going to destroy Triple H, but he turned his attentions on the Warrior, dropping the Warrior with an RKO on a steel chair. Batista ran to the ring, and attacked the Warrior, giving him a Batista Bomb on the floor outside. Triple H pinned the unconscious Warrior, retaining his championship. Evolution has reformed.

            Well I made a boo-boo.

Money in the Bank ppv had some guys in the main event that did not belong (looking at you Cody Rhodes) so I changed some of the participants.

Apparently this had the effect of making it no longer the money in the bank match. Oops.

I decided to replace Summerslam with a second MitB match. Hopefully this time the competitors make sense

Re: Official WWE 2K15 How's Your Universe Mode Going?

Just witnessed an awesome AI vs AI ppv match between Orton and Cena.
Orton was in complete control at the start. After hitting that nasty DDT it started to go back and forth until Cena eventually got the upper hand. He hit Orton with his neckbreaker and soon followed that with a 5 knuckle shuffle. Orton kicked out after a quick 2 count and Cena continued to have the advantage though in the middle there was a surprise RKO.

Eventually Orton turned it around (not before getting hit with a AA) and started to gain the advantage and eventually hitting another RKO. Cena kicked out after about 2 and a half which kinda surprised me because the match had been going on for some time.

Almost immediately after Cena triggered a comeback sequence that returned advantage to him. He hit the neckbreaker again and went for the pin and Orton kicked out at the last second. Definitely not expecting that. A few moments later Cena hit the PG-ruins-WWE slam, oh I'm sorry the "attitude adjustment."

I pick up my controller because this was the second AA Cena hit plus the sigs and everything else. Surely the match is over. Nope, Orton kicks out at 2.99. Funny thing was that I heard the ref say "three" but his hand never touched. Very close call.

Cena continues the beat down for a few more minutes (getting another near fall in the process) before Orton's comeback sequence and that sequence was wow. He did the sequence, stomped the hell out of Cena, suplexed him and then did his rope DDT. Went for the pin...2.9. Cena gets up and tries a move...counter RKO. Orton crawls for the pin...2.9 lol.

I was amazed but figured Orton had the match. Then Cena landed a AA out of nowhere(he appeared to counter a move to do it) and went for the pin. That was finally enough for the 3 count.

By far the best match the AI put on, and not counting ladder matches and battle royals, was easily the longest. Both guys landed multiple finishers (3 each I think). The funny thing was that it was an extreme rules match, yet no weapons were used at all. At one point Orton went under the ring for one but Cena stopped him.

                    Everything is default.

This was not a normal match which is why I felt like sharing it. I wish more ppv matches were like this, but they are not. Matter of fact the main event of that ppv had Undertaker bury CM Punk like it was a dark match.

I considered adjusting sliders to make matches last longer and see more drama but it applies to every match and I don't need to see midcard matches on RAW drag on; I really wish we could have different settings for PPV and weekly shows. For big time ppv and rivals I may adjust settings and afterwards reset them.

But after spending time in the mode the biggest thing I think to pay attention to is momentum (superstar momentum, not match). That is a game changer. Bad things happen if one guy has a lot of momentum and the other does not. In the aforementioned Taker match he had full momentum while Punk had less than half. So Taker is a 100 ovr while Punk was 90. That will not lead to a good match. I have the same problem with Smackdown champ Jericho. After winning MitB his momentum shot up and he is now a 99. So I can't just throw a challenger at him without giving him a strong push.

When both guys have good momentum they tend to put on a good match.

Just had a great match between Cesaro and Adrian Neville on my Smackdown which Cesaro won with the Neutralizer.

Quick question. Am I the only one who just lets the game dictate what feuds and rivalries occur in Universe Mode or does everyone actually book proper things.

I personally book about 75% of the rivalries. The closer it gets to WM the more I micromanage.

                          My own question:
Are all the historic and secret rivalries only 4 weeks? If so this really sucks. For most of my first year I was building towards an epic Cena vs Punk angle and when I finally get everything lined up as scheduled January 1st I see that the rivalry only lasts 4 weeks. I was hoping for a 3 month thing culminating in a WM showdown.
I unlocked the Taker/Cena what if and apparently this also only lasts 4 weeks. Major letdown

I did my own draft amor Raw and Smackdown. Last year I had 4 major shows but the limit on CAWs makes it impossible this year, not to mention I can't create arenas.

I guess the extent to my managing is putting wrestlers in one division so guys are in the proper title class and so someone like R-Truth isn't competing for the World Title. But I always find I struggle in what to book for feuds which I why I have always been crap at fantasy booking.

Within the universe go to edit superstar and you can exclude guys from titles. I exclude main event caliber guys from the IC belt and midcard guys from the HW belts. I also exclude tag team exclusive guys like the Usos from all singles titles because if the tag team gains momentum then they both move up in the singles ranking.

Booking is a fun challenge. To me it is half the fun of the mode. It is almost like a basketball coach having to manage playtime. A good example is Daniel Bryan. I started him in RAW as a face but I also had Taker and Cena on RAW so he was getting little action. So I had to move him to Smackdown to give him action.

Managing the midcard is probably the toughest though. I only run two shows with separate rosters so that makes things very difficult. Each show has 34 guys.

But once you make a roster with a good balance of heels and faces at each level of competition it gets pretty easy. The first few months are the hardest but once you go through some stories your options open up.

Dolph Ziggler has been killing it as IC champ so I may need to consider giving him a main event push. But that would create a cascade effect. I would have a overcrowded HW division and a thin midcard. Do I give a lower guy a push for the IC division, move a HW down, or start a rotation where guys spend time on the "bench?" And if I do push Ziggler how do I handle his belt? If he loses it then he loses momentum which could make his main event run a disaster. Decisions, decisions and I love it.
