[Chad Gable walks down to the ring, wearing his United States Championship belt. The fans cheer him as he enters the ring and grabs a microphone.]

Chad Gable: "Ladies and gentlemen, it's an honor to stand in this ring as your United States Champion. And it's an even bigger honor to have the man standing behind me as my mentor, my coach, and my friend. I'm talking about the Olympic gold medalist, the Hall of Famer, the legend... Kurt Angle!"

[The fans cheer as Kurt Angle's music hits, and he comes out to the ring, smiling and waving to the crowd. He hugs Chad Gable and takes a microphone.]

Kurt Angle: "Thank you, Chad. It's been a pleasure to watch you grow, to teach you the secrets of the ring, and to see you become a champion in your own right. You make me proud every time you step in that ring, and I know you'll continue to do great things."

[Chad Gable nods and smiles, then looks at the fans.]

Chad Gable: "But there's one thing I have to do, Kurt. One thing that may shock everyone, including you. You see, I have a list of challenges, a list of opponents I want to face and beat. And you're on top of that list, Kurt. You're the one I want to retire."

[The fans gasp and boo, while Kurt Angle looks surprised and confused.]

Kurt Angle: "What? Chad, what are you saying? You can't be serious!"

Chad Gable: "I am serious, Kurt. But don't get me wrong. It's not because I don't respect you, or because I don't love you. It's because I respect you too much, and I love you too much. You're the greatest wrestler I've ever known, and I want to prove myself against the greatest. I want to show the world that I'm worthy of carrying your legacy forward. And the best way to do that is to retire you at Summerslam."

[The fans boo louder, while Kurt Angle looks torn between emotions.]

Kurt Angle: "Chad, I... I don't know what to say. I'm flattered, I'm touched, but I can't accept this. You're my protégé, my friend, and my champion. You don't need to retire me to prove anything. You've already proven it by winning this title, by beating all the other challengers, by being the best version of yourself. You don't need to retire me to become a legend. You already are one."

[Chad Gable looks at Kurt Angle, then at the fans, and takes a deep breath.]

Chad Gable: "Maybe you're right, Kurt. Maybe I don't need to retire you to prove anything. But maybe I still want to. Maybe I want to face you, one last time, in the ultimate test of skill, willpower, and heart. Maybe I want to show you and the world that I can beat you, not because I'm better than you, but because I'm inspired by you. Maybe I want to thank you, Kurt, by giving you the toughest challenge of your career. And maybe, just maybe, I want to retire you, not because I hate you, but because I love you."

[The fans start to chant "Thank you, Kurt!" while Kurt Angle looks at Chad Gable with a mix of pride and sadness.]

Kurt Angle: "You're a true wrestler, Chad. A true champion. And a true friend. I accept your challenge. I accept

A few weeks away from MITB and the Smackdown brand has began their qualifying matchups on the latest episode.

Mens MITB qualifier Cody Rhodes defeated Tommaso Ciampa
The New Day defeated The Viking Raiders
****** MITB qualifier Xia Li defeated Rhea Ripley. (I was planning on Rhea winning and wanted her to but she lost and I'm going to roll with it).
Mens MITB qualifier Damian Priest defeated Robert Roode
Womens MITB qualifier Zelina Vega defeated Dakota Kai
Mens MITB qualifier Seth Rollins defeated Edge.

So far the field stands

Mens MITB: Cody Rhodes, Damian Priest, Seth Rollins. One more spot open on the mens side to be filled next week.

Woman's MITB: Xia Li, Zelina Vega

Our attention now turns the RAW side for the MITB qualifers. This past episode we saw all 4 mens qualifying matches and 2 on the woman's side.

Bronson Reed defeated Johnny Gargano to qualify for MITB
The Brawling Brutes defeated The Street Profits in a rival match.
Michin Mia Yim defeated Candice LeRae to earn a spot in the woman's MITB match.
Solo Sikoa qualifed for MITB by defeating The Miz
AJ Styles defeated Austin Theory to qualify for MITB.
Liv Morgan pulled off the upset over Charlotte Flair to head to MITB.
Logan Paul defeated John Cena to earn the final men's MITB spot for Monday Night RAW.

MITB so far

Mens:

Here's what happened at King & Queen of the Ring in Jeddah.

At Saturday night's Queen's Crown tourney, here were the results:

Raquel Rodriguez def. Becky Lynch to capture the Queen's Crown! After the low of losing the Women's Tag Team Championships, Raquel bounces back to win this tournament! Becky shakes her hand, Liv Morgan comes out and celebrates with her tag team partner.

Sunday night's King of the Ring tournament started with some controversy.

Xavier Woods qualified for the tournament with a shock win over Solo Sikoa on Smackdown. Roman told him to be careful flying so close to the sun.

Roman gets interviewed in his private room backstage, says he will be watching with great interest. There is shouting down the hall which interupts. Cameras run off to find Xavier Woods badly injured, Kofi kneels over his partner and calls for a doctor. Solo casually walks by wearing a hoodie, barely offering a glance at the injured Woods.

With two matches down, we go back to Roman Reigns. Kofi Kingston stands at his door. He says Woods beat Solo fair and square. Says this kind of thing should be beneath the Tribal Chief. Roman says Kofi is right. He didn't order the attack and that Solo will face discipline.

Bron Breakker def. AJ Styles

It's time for Xavier's match, but he is clearly in no condition to compete. Back to Roman Reigns. Roman tells Solo the family raised him better than this. Tells him to look at his tribal chief when he talks. Solo only has a couple words to say: "Wasn't me."

Drew McIntyre makes his entrance, ready to face...somebody? Drew grabs a mic. "Alright, Solo, we all know you did it, so get your sorry *** down to this ring and I'll take care of you myself!"

Some familiar, yet terrifying music hits. It's the Beast Incarnate, BROCK LESNAR.

On to the semis.

In the finals, it's a battle of former tournament winners.

Brock Lesnar def. Sheamus to win the King of the Ring tournament almost 21 years after he won it the first time! He becomes the first two time tournament winner since Bret Hart!

The Tribal Chief's nightmare continues, as the Beast King is guaranteed a title shot at Summerslam! But before that, it's Money in the Bank in London, UK! What will happen next? Who wins the Money in the Bank matches? Find out next time!
