    Russell Martin went 2-5, including a solo homer in the top of the 1st, and Andre Ethier went 3-4 to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 7-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds in the first game of a 2-game series. Tony Abreu drove in a pair of runs and James Loney, Matt Kemp, Jeff Kent and Rafael Furcal each had an RBI for the Blue Crew. Cincinnati rookie 1b Joey Votto drove in a run and Edwin Encarnacion scored on a wild pitch to account for the Reds' runs.

Lee went 2-4 in the game with 3 RBIs. Lance Berkman and Hunter Pence each had solo HRs with Bourn also driving in a run for the 'Stros. Paul Bako (pog, 2-4, HR, 3 RBI) led the Cincinnati attack. Adam Dunn and Jeff Keppinger each had solo homers for the Reds.

Michael Bourn went 3-6 with a solo HR and Lance Berkman went 2-3 with a 2-run HR to pace the Houston lineup. Carlos Lee, Ty Wigginton, Geoff Blum and Hunter Pence each had an RBI for the 'Stros.

Jose Valentin had a 3-run double and Kevin Frandsen had a solo HR to account for the other San Francisco runs. Jeff Keppinger drove in Cincinnati's only run with a ground out in the top of the 1st.
