Summer of SIlver - An MLB the Show 25 Franchise - Presented by BigJDotCom01

    Platform: MLB 25 The Show

Rosters: O/S Collab Fictional Roster V2.0

    Sliders: Armor & Sword & Marino’s Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

Roster Control: 30 team control.....just because

Rules: This is a 30-team control story, but I will only be controlling the Las Vegas Silver Kings and checking in occasionally with the other clubs to make sure that they aren't doing anything goofy with their rosters. This is fiction, so I am not a control freak. I am going to try and keep the updates simple like I did in my The Show 22 Flagstaff Hops franchise. Enjoy!

            IBL Inaugural Player Draft

The draft will work in a snake fashion with the draft order in round one below. Round two will reverse the order. Odd rounds will follow round one and even rounds will follow the order from round two.

The draft order will be determined by a lottery with the draft being held at the league headquarters in Phoenix. The draft will consist of 93 rounds to fill out every team’s roster. I will draft the first three rounds and then sim the final 90 rounds.

The draft lottery was won by the St George Archers.

              2025 IBL Inaugural Player Draft

Phoenix, AZ (AP) - The Intermountain Baseball League held its initial draft in Phoenix and now we have teams full of actual players. Here is a review of the top five players selected and the results of the first three rounds of the draft.

First baseman Fletcher Long went first overall to the St George Archers. The 6'5” 24-year-old is an absolute stud with big power against both lefties and righties.

Austin went with starting pitcher Jim Glass with the second pick. The 6'3” left hander features a four-seam fastball and nasty slider. The 27-year-old Glass should anchor this staff.

El Paso picked third overall and selected third baseman Murray Miles. The 30-year-old right handed power hitter should do well in the thin air of the IBL.

Shortstop Herb Dorsey was selected fourth overall by the Scottsdale Scorpions. He is a five tool player and arguably the best overall player in the IBL.

Santa Fe selected first baseman William Choi fifth overall. Choi is a right handed power hitter that should make the Jays an instant contender.

Only 12 starting pitchers were selected in the first round. Las Vegas came out of the draft feeling pretty good about their selections as most teams would. They picked three pitchers with their first three selections making the top of their rotation the best in the league. They also have an excellent bullpen.

                  Intermountain Baseball League

This franchise will be similar to my MLB the Show 22 Fictional Franchise in which I developed the Intermountain Baseball League. We have brought back most of the franchises, but also mixed in a few new ones. Gone are the Goodyear Jackrabbits, Henderson Silver Knights, Fresno Bears, Rio Rancho Owlz, Roswell Aliens and Precott Hot Shots.

We welcome into the IBL: the Peoria Pit Spitters, Tahoe Lake Monsters, Oakland Oaks, Denver Black Bears, Billings Mustangs and the Boise Hawks. Las Vegas has rebranded from the Nuggets to the Silver Kings. Fort Worth has rebranded from the Kings to the Drillers.

We will once again have a fantasy draft to stock the teams. I will be controlling the Las Vegas Silver Kings franchise.

                  Mountain League:
                  Eastern Division:

                  Amarillo Honey Hunters:
                  Stadium: Hodgetown (8.085)
                  Player Salaries: $110M

The Amarillo Honey Hunters play in the smallest park in the Mountain League at Hodgetown with a seating capacity of just over 8,000. They are led by 33-year-old starting pitcher Fredrick Tillman, who has a powerful fastball and devastating slider. Offensively, teh Honey Hunters are led by rightfielder Cristian Palbicki and second baseman Ozzie Valdez.

                  Austin Fire Frogs:
                  Stadium: Dell Diamond (35,700)
                  Player Salaries: $86M

The Austin Fire Frogs return to the IBL, playing their games at the brand new Dell Diamond located in downtown Austin. It is a retractable roof facility right on Lady Bird Lake. The Fire Frogs are lead by second overall pick, lefty Jim Glass, and first baseman Tawn Hamlin. Hamlin is another one of those guys with tremendous power against both lefties and righties.

                  Forth Worth Drillers:
                  Stadium: Globe Life Park (40,300)
                  Player Salaries: $130M

The Fort Worth Drillers will play their home games in the spacious Globe Life Park in Arlington with a seating capacity of (40,300), making it the largest stadium in the IBL. Fort Worth changed nicknames from the Kings to the Drillers for this iteration of the IBL. Their staff is anchored by three excellent starting pitchers in Eli Sexson, Ray Villarreal, and Aaron Grimes. First baseman Damian Huff has tremendous power against both lefties and righties so watch out!

                  San Antonio Javelinas:
                  Stadium: Huntington Park (19.390)
                  Player Salaries: $158M

The San Antonio Javelinas return to the IBL with their neon green, silver and black color combination, playing in Huntington Park in downtown San Antonio, just a few blocks from the Alamodome. The Javelinas selected 24-year-old starting pitcher Israel Saucedo to be the cornerstone of their franchise. Outfielder Leroy Hunter is a five tool guy, and catcher Ashton Sargent may be the best in the IBL.

West Texas Bison, based in Lubbock:
                  Stadium: Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark (15,959)
                  Players Salaries: $95M

The West Texas Bison are based in Lubbock, Texas and play at gorgeous Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. They return from the initial IBL. They are lead by starting pitchers Jack Siddiqui and Sandy Stephenson. Left fielder Chris Christensen will be a player to watch.

                    Mountain League:
                    Central Division:

                    Albuquerque Mariachis:
                    Stadium: Optum Park (12,471)
                    Player Salaries: $134M

Albuquerque returns to the ML Central, playing their home games out of Optum Park in the University Heights district of Albuquerque. The Mariachis made some subtle uniform changes, adding turquoise to their color pallet. The Mariachis selected starting pitcher Conrad Rouse with the seventh overall selection in the draft. Third baseman Alberto Quezada and catcher Gene Beasley are two of the top players at their positions in the IBL.

                    Colorado Springs Snow Sox:
                    Stadium: Security Service Field (13,763)
                    Player Salaries: $98M

The Snow Sox played in the Mountain League West in the past, but has been moved to the Central as Roswell and Rio Rancho did not return. They play in Security Service Field in downtown Colorado Springs, a gem. The Snow Sox went pitching at the top of their draft, selecting Robby Lundy at 26th overall. Right fielder Buster White is one of the best hitters in the IBL and will lead the way offensively.

                    Denver Black Bears:
                    Stadium: Frontier Field (33,651)
                    Player Salaries: $169M

The Denver Black Bears have joined the IBL in 2025, adding another major western city to the league. The Black Bears will play their home games at newly built Frontier Field in downtown Denver. The Black Bears have one of the highest payrolls in the IBL led by starting pitcher Mario Serrano and third baseman Harold Ray. This is a deep pitching staff that should keep Denver in contention all year.

                    El Paso Blue Express:
                    Stadium: Southwest University Park (13,369)
                    Player Salaries: $137M

El Paso returns as the Express. They initially joined the IBL in 2022 as the Blue Rocks. They made it to the World Series in 2023, losing to Chandler. They play out of Southwest University Park, a nice little stadium in downtown El Paso. Third baseman Murray Miles anchors this team that did not select a starting pitcher until the seventh round of the draft. This is a team that will need to score runs to be competitive.

                    Santa Fe Jays:
                    Stadium: Coca-Cola Field (7,630)
                    Player Salaries: $138M

The Jays return to the IBL. They originally joined the IBL in 2022 as the Silver Bullets, but bowed to pressure from activist groups to change their name. They rebranded as the Jays in 2024. They play in Coca-Cola Field on the outskirts of Santa Fe. The Jays selected first baseman William Choi fifth overall. They then selected three starting pitchers in Phil Ibarra, Jorge Carrara, and Arnold Gilliand and will have an excellent rotation

                      Mountain League:
                      Western Division:

                      Billings Mustangs:
                      Stadium: Western Sugar Field (12,798)
                      Player Salaries: $148M

Billings joins the lineup in the Mountain League West as the first city in Montana to join the league. They replace Colorado Springs, who moved to the Central Division. They will play their games at Western Sugar Field in the biggest city in Montana. The Mustangs have two excellent starters at the top of their staff in Richie Dickson and Percy Balk. Offensively, first baseman Darrick Pugh will lead the way.
                      Boise Hawks:
                      Stadium: IDACORP Field (10,839)
                      Player Salaries: $119M

Boise is another new city to join the IBL in 2025. They take the place of Prescott in the Mountain League West and will play their games in newly built IDACORP Field on the outskirts of downtown Boise. The Hawks selected centerfielder Winston Cahill 21st overall. The Hawks pitching staff is pretty good, led by Sean Christensen at the top of the rotation. This team is favored to win the Mountain League West.

                      Flagstaff Hops
                      Stadium: Autozone Park (9,474)
                      Player Salaries: $165M

Flagstaff returns to the IBL in 2025 and this was the franchise that we focused on in the last iteration, playing three seasons, making the playoffs once. They will play at AutoZone Park in picturesque downtown Flagstaff. The Hops selected third baseman Justin Long with their first selection. The pitching staff is below average and the infield, outside of Long, is one of the lowest rated in the league.

                      Salt Lake Chukars:
                      Stadium: Deseret Field (15,174)
                      Player Salaries: $129M

Salt Lake returns to the IBL and the Chukars have a newly redesigned logo heading into 2025. The Chukars will play at quirky Deseret Field in downtown Salt Lake City. The Chukars chose third baseman Tanner McConnell with the 25th overall pick. This is a solid team all around that should put up runs, the issue may be stopping the other teams from scoring. Salt Lake's pitching staff is in the bottom third of the league, talent wise.

                      St George Archers:
Stadium: Bank of Utah Field (9,814)
                      Player Salaries: $131M

St George returns with its stadium nestled in the gorgeous red rocks of southwestern Utah. Bank of Utah Field is the third smallest stadium in the IBL, but maybe the one with the best views. The Archers took Fletcher Long with the first overall pick in the IBL draft. Centerfielder Mariano Tejada and left fielder Garrett Willard are excellent. Outside of Long, the infield is below average at best.

                        Desert League:
                        Eastern Division:

                        Chandler Chiefs:
                        Stadium: Desert Financial Field (11,145)
                        Player Salaries: $119M

The Chiefs won a title in the previous iteration of the IBL after the 2023 season. They play their home games at Desert Financial Field in downtown Chandler. The Chiefs may be one of the worst teams in the league this go around. Alfonso Rosales at shortstop and Demetrius Friedberg in centerfield are bright spots, but this lineup has holes all over the place.

                        Gilbert Barnstormers:
                        Stadium: Fry's Field (9,448)
                        Player Salaries: $108M

The Barnstormers have a new home in 2025 as they will play in the newly built Fry's Field in historic downtown Gilbert. The Barnstormers once again hope to be as competitive as the last iteration of the franchise was. Arguably the best infield in all of the IBL, the Barnstormers are rated in the top ten in all four infield positions. The have a good starting rotation but no stars. Right fielder Steve Dominguez and third baseman Rico Estrella should lead this team into a postseason berth.

                        Mesa Solar Sox:
                        Stadium: Sloan Park (13,432)
                        Player Salaries: $147M

Mesa returns and will play their games at Sloan Park on the West side of Mesa, and the spring training home of the Chicago Cubs. One of the worst bullpens in the IBL and arguably the worst starting rotation. That means they are going to need to score runs. Left Fielder Mike Anderson, first baseman Julio Mendoza and third baseman Doyle Ramirez lead a lineup that should put up some big numbers.

Salt River Rafters, based in Salt River Pima-Maricopa Community:
                        Stadium: Salt River Fields (9,080)
                        Player Salaries: $109M

Salt River returns with a slight update to their logo. They will play at Salt River Fields, Spring Training home of the Dbacks and Rockies. The Rafters selected starting pitcher Reuben Gonzalez 16th overall. He and Richard Stanley make a nice 1-2 punch at the top of teh rotation. Micah Lange is a potential all-star in right field.

                        Tucson RoadRunners:
                        Stadium: Safeway Park (33,651)
                        Player Salaries: $129M

Tucson returns to this iteration of the IBL at Safeway Park in Oro Valley, Arizona, just north of Tucson. The Roadrunners have arguably the best uniforms in the league. The Roadrunners are built to rely on their offense. Shortstop Scott Douglas, first baseman Brian Lee and left fielder Herbert Walker are all studs. The pitching staff has one legit top end starter in Sean Young.

                          Desert League:
                          Central Division:

                          Glendale Desert Dogs:
                          Stadium: Camelback Ranch (11,742)
                          Player Salaries: $127M

Glendale also returns, playing their games out at the Camelback Ranch. A small but very nice facility in the West Valley. The Desert Dogs have two decent starting pitchers in MacKenzie Kwon and Anthony Davidson. Shortstop Carlos Sanchez is a stud. Other than that, this team is at or below average. The Desert Dogs season would be a success if they can finish out of last place in teh DL Central.
                          Peoria Pit Spitters:
                          Stadium: Jet Blue Park (12,976)
                          Player Salaries: $110M

Peoria joins the IBL in 2025 with the Pit Spitters. They will play at JetBlue Park on the northwest side of Phoenix. The Pit Spitters are built on team speed and pitching. They have above average starting pitching and a lockdown bullpen. First baseman Odell McCarthy should be a terror for opposing pitching.

                          Phoenix Firebirds:
                          Stadium: Southwest Airlines Field (32,566)
                          Player Salaries: $140M

Phoenix returns with an updated Southwest Airlines Field, a retractable roof facility in downtown Phoenix. The Firebirds have put together a very nice team for 2025. Rickey Pugh and Richie Dale on the left side of the infield are fantastic. Right fielder Estevan Hernandez may be one of the best outfielders in the entire league. They have an above average pitching staff and if they can get offensive support, should be playing in October.

                          Scottsdale Scorpions:
                          Stadium: PXG Park (22,050)
                          Player Salaries: $92M

Scottsdale returns but has a brand new stadium, PXG Park, probably the jewel of the IBL. Located in downtown Scottsdale, it replaces the old Scottsdale Stadium. Shortstop Herb Dorsey and second baseman Sergio Gomez are one of the best middle infield combos in the league. Todd Dyer and Nolan Tatum at the top of the rotation are more than adequate. The bullpen, led by Tom Martinez is one of the best in the league.

                          Surprise Saguaros:
                          Stadium: Surprise Stadium (10,674)
                          Player Salaries: $158M

Surprise returns with a brand new Surprise Stadium, that replaces the former Spring Training facility that the team used in the previous IBL. This is arguably one of the best teams in the IBL. They have a strong pitching staff led by Andreas Guzman, and an excellent bullpen. Keaton Ross is one of the best centerfielders in the game.

                            Desert League:
                            Western Division:

                            Las Vegas Silver Kings:
                            Stadium: Bally's Ballpark (26,976)
                            Player Salaries: $102M

I will be controlling this team. The Silver Kings three top end starting pitchers in Emery Hutchinson, Antoine Swanger and Jeremi Dillon. Second baseman Danny Watt is underrated and could be a star. The bullpen looks to have a bunch of great arms.

                            Long Beach Surf Dawgs:
                            Stadium: Harbor Park (19,253)
                            Player Salaries: $127M

The Surf Dawgs play in spectacular Harbor Park with a gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean. They are led by shortstop Ward Mejia and third baseman Scott Soto. A very good starting rotation led by Richard Machado gives Long Beach the underhand in a pretty weak division.

                            Oakland Oaks:
                            Stadium: London Square Stadium (31,901)
                            Player Salaries: $139M

The Oakland Oaks mark the return of professional baseball to Oakland, playing in the newly built London Square Stadium. The team does not have many star players, and that talent gap shows in their infield. Riley Duffy in centerfield should be a bright spot.

                            San Diego Seals:
                            Stadium: Petco Park (39,860)
                            Player Salaries: $96M

The Seals return in 2025 playing at Petco Park in the gas lamp district of downtown San Diego. This team is led by starting pitcher Clayton Lopez. Outside of maybe centerfielder Henry Aguilar, this team doesn't have much star power and should be battling Tahoe for last in the DL West.

                            Tahoe Lake Monsters:
                            Stadium: Lakefront Park (13,837)
                            Player Salaries: $111M

The Lake Monsters are a new club in the IBL and will play in picturesque South Tahoe, California at the southern tip of Lake Tahoe in beautiful Lakefront Park. Centerfielder Reese Cherry should lead an offense that lacks both power and contact. The Lake MOnsters do have speed which may help overcome those deficiencies. This team should be lucky if they stay put of last place.

                              Let’s Meet the Silver Kings

                              Stadium: Ballys Ballpark (Capacity: 26,976)
                              Overall Rank: 13th
                              Contact: 3rd
                              Power: 22nd
                              Pitching: 2nd
                              Defense: 26th
                              Speed: 10th

The Las Vegas Silver Kings have a pretty decent roster as we begin play in the inaugural season of the relaunched IBL. They look like they should be a team that stays in teh playoff race, but may fall just short.

The top end of their rotation is excellent, but the bottom two look like they could be a problem. The bullpen should have no problem keeping the team in games if the starters allow it.

The lineup could be an issue with most positions middle of the road.
