fantasy draft
Well I was going to go with a fantasy draft and I actually had a solid team but it hit me who to finally be. Despite being in the same division as my favorite team I am going to start a dynasty with the Houston Astros. I decided on Houston b/c of them being the oldest team in MLB along with being a team that is just missing a few pieces to win a pennet or can be a team with pieces to trade away to start the rebuilding process.Last edited by Jnort3; 07-17-2009, 11:41 PM.Tags: None -

Cubs Make 'Stros Pay For Small Ball MistakesHOUSTON,TX- This game was getting hype as pitchers duel and it was going that way with both Oswalt and Zambrano dominating the first time threw the line up. Unfortuntly though for Oswalt a costly throwing error by Miguel Tejada resulted in three unearned runs in the fourth. Thats all that the Cubs would need with Carlos Zambrano on the mound and went on to a 4-1 victory.

'Stros Play Power Ball & WinHOUSTON, TX- The long ball was alive Tuesday night in Minute Maid Park where the Houston Astros powered back to pick up 6-4 victory over Cubs. Harden Looks Like Ace
HOUSTON,TX- The rubber game of the series showed exactly why the Astros aren't there yet and the Cubs are favorite to win the NL Central. The Cubs Rich Harden looked like the ace of the staff and was completly unhittable, while the Astros Brian Moehler couldn't seem to gather his control. Brian went only 5 innings allowing 5 runs (all earned) on 7 hits and 5 walks; compared to Rich Harden who went 8 innings alowing only 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 10 to 1 walk. Both Aramis Ramirez and Alfonso Soriano help lead the Cubs with solo shots to jump on Moehler early and get him pulled after the 3 run fifth.
W: Rich Harden (1-0) 8 IP, 5 H, 2 R/2 ER, 1 BB, 10 K

BIG DONKEY RETURNS HOME
BREAKING NEWS:
NATS/ASTROS TRADEAfter a bad performance last night by Brian Moehler, GM Eddie Calaway stated he would be looking for a new number three.
Well Eddie wasted no time and a deal was made today. The Houston Astros have officially sent LF Carlos Lee to the Washington Nationals for the 6'9 hard throwing right hander Daniel Cabrera and Houston native Adam Dunn.
There were rumors this off season that Adam Dunn would return home to Houston but Carlos Lee would have to be traded first. Carlos Lee was never traded and Adam Dunn became a Washington Nationals. Daniel Cabrera was also signed this offseaon by the Nationals.
Dunn will be in the line up Friday night when Houston takes on the St. Louis Cardinals and Cabrera is scheduled to make his first start next Monday vs the Pirates. To make room for Cabrera on the Astros 25 man roster the Astros released relief pitcher Chad Paronto and sent Russ Ortiz to AAA.Last edited by Jnort3; 07-18-2009, 04:04 PM.Comment
