"O's get extra inning walk-off versus Jays!!"
The Orioles made up one game on the Red Sox in their last game and were trying to make up another one last night. Both teams were no hit through four innigns. In the bottom of the fourth Jerry Hairston Jr. hit the first hit of the night, a single up the middle. In the top of the fifth the Blue Jays got their first hit of the night, a solo home run by Corey Koskie. The score stayed that way until the bottom of the seventh. Javy Lopez singled in Miguel Tejada to tie the game. In the bottom of the ninth Tejada led off with a shot off the top of the wall. Tejada said "I swore it was gone and I became a hero." The Orioles now have a runner in second with none out. Melvin Mora was then intentionally walked. Javy Lopez then struckout swinging. Sadly next Rafael Palmeiro grounded into an inning ending double play. In the bottom of the tenth Luis Matos singles and then stole a base but once again no one was able to drive him in. In the bottom of the eleventh Miguel Tejada doubled once again and in stepped Melvin Mora. Mora singled andn Miguel Tejada tried to score. He was clearly out but it was up to the umpire. "SAFE!!". The Orioles won once again. In a press conference with the umpire he said, "I looked at the replay and he was clearly out. An umpire will make mistakes and it was not an easy call." The Orioles play the Jays again tonight in game two of a three game series.

"Back to back to back homers propel Jays over O's"
The Orioles came into this game with a perfet season record against the Jays. (4-0). They were hoping to gain another game on the Red Sox. Before the game started the teams new the Tigers beat the Red Sox 9 to 6 and that they could make up ground. A win in this game would put the O's only back y three games. Scoring started early when Sean Brassard hit a sac fly to drive in Vernon Wells in the top of the second. One more run scored in that inning making it two to zero. In the bottom of the fourth the Orioles had the bases loaded with none out and were not able to score ANY runs. In the bottom of the sixth Palmeiro drove in the O's first run of the game with a RBI single. Then Larry Bigbie hit a two run homer to give the Orioles a slim three to two lead. Back to back homers were in the eighth for the Jays and then steppen in Vernon Wells. He hit an easy fly ball in foul territory that first baseman David Segui should've had but he dropped it. Two pitches later Wells made it back to back to back HR's. The game went bad for the O's from there and they lost eight to four.

"Jays Come back late with Grand Salami!!"
The Orioles came into this series expecting three easy wins and to make up at least a game on the first place Red Sox. The Jays offense really got in the way of those dreams. The scoring started off in the top of the fourth when Corey Koskie hit a shot over the left field to give the Jays a 1-0 lead. The O's then answered in the botttom of the fifth with two runs themself giving them a 2-1 lead. With runners on first and third and nobody out in the eighth the O's intentionally walked Alex Rios to get a force at the plate. Frank Catalanotto stepped in and hit a Grand Slam to give the Jays a 5-2 lead. That was the third grand slam the O's have allowed this year. In the eighth B.J. Surhoff drove in two off a double and broght the O's within 1. In the bottom of ninth wiht two out Jerry Hairston stepped in. He hit one DEEP but just befor ethe wall the ball dropped into the outfielders glove. Game Over.
