    I think it's 5 K's, not 5 SO.
You really got banged up that 2nd inning.

Yeah, I did get banged up that 2nd inning.

And I know it's K's, but I always thought that it was SO in statistical score?? when you look at MLB.com's statistics page, it's got strikeouts listed as "SO", haha, lmfao.

So i'm also thoroughly convinced that I was right, especially because in the box scores the generator made for me it was labelled as "SO" as well.

But whatever, I knew you were just joking :P

Thanks for popping by, either way!!

I guess to me, SO mean shut out.
For example, Justin Verlander K's 12, allows 3 hits and 1 run in 8 innings.

Anyway, what kind of pitcher are you? A finesse guy or a fastballer?

To be honest, I'm not really quite sure, yet. I've given him high potential and pretty basic attributes. I'm hoping the natural progression in the game will mold him into a pitcher that I can live with. If you haven't seen his ratings on page 3, I suggest you check them out. But so far his go to pitch is definitely his fastball, although he's got a knucklecurve in his reportoire, meaning technically he COULD end up developing into more of a greg-maddux kind of pitcher.

Like I said, I'm not really sure yet, but am hoping the natural progression in this game takes him to "nice places", haha.

                      yeah, of course

I know I haven't done one in a while, but I haven't been able to come up with a whole lot of "gewd stuph".

Since it's 2 AM right now where I am, I don't have the mental awareness to make a written update. But I'll try and get a good one going for you all in the morning.

                      Thanks for stopping in, though.

Re: Can You Hear the Rattlesnakes? An MVP 05 RTTS-Style Story

George cautiously entered his manager's room after having taken a shower and having gotten dressed.

He quietly knocked three times, so softly that he was afraid his coach hadn't heard him.

“Come in,” came an equally soft answer.

He slowly pushed open the door, and his coach, Bill Plummer, motioned for him to take a seat across from his desk.

George forced himself down into a cushioned arm chair and crossed his legs, foot tapping in all directions.

“Don't worry about today's loss,” Plummer said, putting his hand on George's foot to stop it from tapping annoyingly against his mahogany desk.

George only nodded solemnly, and put his feet down firmly on the floor, now substituting his anguish into the armrests of the chair, attempting to squeeze the leather out of them. He glanced down at his knuckles, and noticed they were bright white.

He sighed, and slowly let go of his tension, only concentrating on his breathing.

How on earth had they lost that night's game? After all, he had been dominating the opposition for most of the game. It hadn't been until the 7th inning when he had truly collapsed, and even then, it seemed to have happened in less than a blink of an eye.

He had let the team down. He had let all his high school friends down, and himself down, on top of that.

He had let his mother down. He had let his father down.

“Kid,” Plummer stated sternly, cutting across his thoughts. “Don't get on like tonight was your fault. You pitched a great game. It was my fault for not taking you out soon enough. I became overconfident in you, and thought you could work out of your own jam. I didn't even have anybody in the goddamned bullpen for you. Don't do anything rash, OK?” He had obviously noticed the look of revulsion on George's face.

“OK,” George murmured as best he could. But inside, he was burning. Anger, hate, frustration, and sadness swept over him, and he tried his best to control it.

“But you just said it, didn't you?” George accused Plummer angrily after a moment of fighting a mental battle.

“Said what?” Plummer said, only now looking up from his paperwork.

“You were overconfident in my abilities. You....you don't think I'm good enough.”

“No!” Plummer said, a look of disbelief and shock that he had said something so rash to a young prospect. “I didn't say anything like that at all.”

“Yes,” George said calmly, eyes closed. “Yes you did. You know what, Coach? I'm ****ing sick and tired of this ****. I get dressed for practice in a toddler's chair, and I'm utterly humiliated every single time I meet the team, no matter where we are or what we're meeting for. And you just sit around and join in on the laughter.”

He rose up now, and Plummer arose too, so as to maintain an even playing field in the argument.

“You know what, Coach?” George uttered. “I'm ****ing sick of it. I'm not a complainer, I never have been. But this is ****ing garbage. I know it sounds crazy, but I can't help but think I haven't been playing too well because of all this goddamned stress and humiliation you and the rest of the guys have been giving me. What the ****? The other rookies don't get this level of humiliation. Maybe one or two pranks so far, all year, per every other rookie! But me? Even the other ****ing rookies laugh at me, coach, and I'm ****ing sick of it.”

“What would you like me to do, then?” Coach Plummer yelled back. George was so shocked with his coach's temper that he immediately took his seat once again, in one swift motion.

Plummer followed suit, and put his forehead in his palm, which was propped up from the elbow that was resting on his desk.

“Do you want to see a shrink, or something?” Plummer questioned.

“No,” George murmured threateningly. “I want you to do something. Intervene.”

“Now, kid, you know I can't do that.”

“WHY THE **** NOT?” George yelled. “I'm sick of this ****ing treatment.”

“I think you're just angry from your collapse this afternoon.”

“GAH!” George noised, standing up from the armchair and hurrying out of the older man's office.

He swiftly walked through the locker room, where John Hester tried to throw a tennis ball at him.

George silently dodged it, however, and continued his quick pace out of the arena, not even bothering to look any of his teammates in the eye.

“Jesus Christ,” third baseman Bryan Burne said from his corner of the locker room. “What's wrong with him?”

“Must be going home to cry to his mama,” Hester joked. A few of his buddies chuckled softly, many of whom were other rookies devoted to the team's jokester.

Burne stood up, angrily, and said, “Shut up, John. You've been giving that poor kid crap since day one. You give him five times as much horse **** as you give the other rookies, and I've never seen anybody give a rookie this much crap in my entire life.”

“You'll keep quiet, if you know what's good for you,” Hester mumbled, just loud enough for it to carry across the locker room to Burne's ears. “Otherwise you might end up like your rump-riding friend, near the urinal.”

“Who the **** do you think gave you the right to control this locker room, Hester?” Bryan yelled angrily. “This isn't your ****ing team, it's all of ours. You're not the ****ing king of France, and you don't have any goddamned divine right to rule over all of us.”

Hester stalked angrily out of the room and into the showers.

“Don't worry about him,” left fielder Cyle Hankerd said, suddenly appearing in the conversation. “He's just pissed that George's appearance her meant the cutting of his best friend on the team.”

Bryan started for a moment, but then thought better of it, and sat back down again, tearing his socks off his smelly feet in fuming silence.

I think they kept you in too long. Usually young pitchers should get replaced after the 6th.

                            Anyway, the video was good.

yeah, they did Or, I did...haha. Technically this is dynasty mode, so I control the batters and the fielders, too...although with the sliders I'm using, I downright suck at hitting .

I also control the manager, so I made the mistake of keeping him in too long.

I've never really tried something like this before, especially on MVP, so I'm still learning how to make it fun and realistic, while still knowing when to sub him out and such.
