Bay Dealt to Rockies
Jason Bay has taken his last at-bat in Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH - In a stunning move today, the Pittsburgh Pirates have dealt left fielder Jason Bay, catcher Humberto Cota, and pitcher Salomon Torres to the Colorado Rockies.
In return, they receive rookie shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, center fielder Jeff Salazar and pitcher Ubaldo Jiminez. This comes in the last year of Bay's contract and he has made it clear that he would be looking elsewhere instead of resigining. In a statement, GM Dave Littlefield says that Tulowitzki and incumbent shortstop Jack Wilson will be in a platoon role until one player can prove that they are better. -
