Re: New Life: Justin Blanton's Shot at Redemption (RTTS - SP)

    September 2, 2013
20 wins!!! I reached another milestone in my last start by getting my 20th win. It was a great game and it just continues a great season. I got eight runs of support and struckout 13 batters. Only gave up four hits, too, and didn't walk anybody. I have to give credit to my defense, too. They made some great plays behind me as well. David [Wright] has been masterful at the hot corner this season. I don't know if he'll get a Gold Glove but he deserves it in my opinion.

The push of the final month of the season is beginning. We're in great position and should win the division. We've got a 23.0 game lead with less than 30 games to play.

Re: New Life: Justin Blanton's Shot at Redemption (RTTS - SP)

      October 3, 2013
114-48!!! Can you believe that?? That's a win percentage of .704! We finished an incredible 32.0 games ahead of the second place 82-80 Washington Nationals. We capped off a dominating regular season with a sweep at home of the Nationals. But we know our season will be for nothing if we don't win a World Series. The 2001 Seattle Mariners went 116-46 only to lose in the ALCS. We don't want to be remembered as one of the best regular seasons teams to not win the World Series. We know we have go out, now, and take it one game at a time. We're still 11 wins away from our ultimate goal.

I guess I had myself a heck of a season, too. Finished with a 24-3 record, 1.74 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and struckout a whopping 371 batters!! But, again, I can't stress this enough, that will feel empty if we don't win the World Series.

Anyway, here's a playoff preview and season wrap-up.

This is my three-run homer, followed by my RBI double, and the strikeout pitch for my 10 strikeouts

I did give up this home-run to Geovany Soto in the 5th inning

        October 7, 2013
I've pitched over 600 innings in my professional baseball career, including the minors and, through October 6th, 2013, I had yet to hit a homerun. That changed in my first career playoff plate-apperance. I took a Carlos Zambrano fastball and pulled it over the left-field wall for a three-run homer!!! I'm still gloating. I mean, sure I had a good game pitching and we won, but that home-run may stick out more than any pitching achievement I accomplish in my career. A playoff home-run in my first career playoff appearance!! It doesn't get much better than that. Not only that, but I got two more hits and drove in another run, meaning I personally accounted for four of the five runs we scored.

Oh, and as for the pitching performance: 9.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 10 Ks. I guess that's pretty good, too.

        October 11, 2013
So I didn't have to make a second start against the Cubs. We finished off the sweep with a 10-8 win in game two, and an 8-2 win in game three. Things held to form in the other three series as the highest seeded teams won their series. The Red Sox beat the Indians in four games, the White Sox beat the Rangers in five games, and the Rockies swept the Cardinals.

Man, what a pitcher's duel. Me vs. Cole Hamels. Two great pitchers that had spectacular seasons and the match-up lived up to the hype. Tied up 1-1 going into the bottom of the 9th and we score two runs to take the all important 1-0 series lead. I got knocked around a little bit but stayed strong and ended up getting another complete game. Gave up four more hits and another earned run. Struckout a baker's dozen, too. Hopefully Johan can come out with his best stuff tonight so we can take a 2-0 series lead heading to Colorado. I think I'll get the call to pitch game four, but I would be fine pitching game three on three days rest.

We're going to the World Series!!! I pitched in game five last night and got another complete game, this time a shutout to clinch the series in five games. This team is incredible. 114-48 in the regular season, and now 7-1 in the playoffs. It feels so good to be a part of this. Struckout 13 batters and after we scored six runs in the top of the 1st I was able to get really comfortable just cruised. Nothing like coming to the mound for your first inning of work and already having a 6-0 lead.

The World Series shouldn't disappoint. We are playing the Boston Red Sox who had the second best record in baseball this year. I'll be squaring off against Jon Lester in game one at Boston. Kind of wishing we had won the All-Star game, now, but I'm not too nervous.

There's not a good way to describe pitching in the World Series. The atmosphere is electric, the players are 110% focused, and your adrenaline is pumping on overdrive. To top it off, I was taking the bump in Fenway Park!! THE FENWAY PARK!!! I mean so much history and mystique in that place. It was definitely nerve-wracking and it showed early on as I walked two of the first four batters I faced. Fortunately the damage was minimal and I gained my composure for the remainder of the game. It felt so good to get the game one win on the road. I didn't realize how loaded the Red Sox lineup was. I mean, Carl Crawford, Jacoby Ellsbury, Adrian Gonzalez, Dustin Pedroia, Kevin Youkilis, Ian Kinsler and Jimmy Rollins?!?! That's almost not fair!!!

But I got two runs of support in the 1st inning and that definitely took off some of the pressure. As for games two and three...well WE WON!!! I get the chance to go out tomorrow and clinch the series in front of the home crowd. I hope I can do it. It would be the perfect ending to a remarkable season.

Re: New Life: Justin Blanton's Shot at Redemption (RTTS - SP)

My computer was on the fritz for several days so I didn't get to do any 2014 updates but I have completed the 2014 season. I know these numbers are VERY unrealistic, but for the heck of it I knocked pitching difficulty down to rookie and lowered some of the CPU hitting sliders just to see how ridiculous of a season I could compile statistically. Reason being, I'm getting ready to be out of town for a month so I just wanted to have some fun.

Anyway, here is a 2014 summary, not including the playoffs.

So, if you want to put up ridiculous numbers, then just knock human pitching down to rookie and lower the CPU hitting sliders a bit. I know it's not realistic, but still. All of my pitching attributes are maxed out and I'm close to having my contact vs. L/R and power vs. L/R maxed out.

                    From the plate this year.... 99 AB, 37 H, .374 AVG, 4 HR, 16 RBI, 8 R, 9 2B, 1 3B

Not trying to knock what you're doing... It'd have been much more intriguing to see how this guy would do on the hardest difficulty with maxed stats than against the lowest.

This started out real good bro... but giving him a steroid era like advantage kinda takes the wind out of the sail interest wise..

Don't care. Like I said, I'm leaving and going to be gone for a month. I probably won't get back into this much when I return since I'll be in NCAA Football mode. I might pick it back up sometime net spring (doubt I'll buy The Show 12) and if/when I do, I'll go back to playing on All-Star or Hall of Fame. I mainly made the post to keep update the playoff results and league awards and league leaders.
