The Blog of James Alexander (MLB 10)

    Big Lefty Blog

Hello, let me start off by introducing myself. My name is James Alexander, I am an aspiring major league center fielder. I got drafted out of high school by the Baltimore Orioles. I couldn't pass up the offer to play professional ball, so I lumbered my 6'1" 200 lbs. frame to Bowie to play AA ball for the Baysox. This is a chronicle of my journey to the big leagues. I hope you enjoy my blog and support me in my journey to the big leagues.

    God bless,
    James Alexander

It took awhile for me to finally get my break and get some playing time. I'm not upset at all that it took so long and I understand it will take some time for me to develop my skills. I can tell you that I was ready to go and get my butt in the game though. I proved it too, 1-1 with an RBI and a stolen base. Not a bad start if you ask me. I am also satisfied with our team starting off 3-1. Hopefully I'll see some more playing time in our upcoming series against Harrisburg. Until next time take care.

      God Bless,
      James Alexander

It might be awhile before I dive for a ball again. That freaking hurt man. I didn't realize how bad bruised ribs could hurt, I can only imagine if I would have broken them. I did fairly decent in the series against Harrisburg, 1-3, isn't terrible. That will lower my average to .500 but that's not a big deal. I would be happy to just be able to hit .250. As far as the injury goes, coach told me I will likely sit out the next series against Akron and then there might be a possibility I can see some playing time against Erie, all depending on how the trainer feels I am progressing of course. Well that's about all for now, I'm off to take an ice bath to relax my sore muscles.

            God Bless,

Wow, so that wasn't too good. Our season had been going pretty good and then we got swept. That hurts a lot, we were near the top of our division now we are getting close to the bottom. It was tough to watch all those games from the bench. Sorry this will be so short, I'm going to get some rest, coach says I'll be starting the next series. Until next time!

Ouch, that describes our last series both personally and as a team. I went 1-11!!! That's not good at all, I also got beaned twice and missed a fly ball and it hit me in the face. Oh, did I mention we got swept? Completely embarrassing for me. What can I do though? Pick up my bat and glove and keep going. It's a long road to the show and unfourtantely it looks like it's going to be a painful one for me. Luckily we play at home for our next series. I'm off to take another ice bath, hopefully this soreness will go away one day.

Wow an 11 game losing streak. We suck, to put it simply. Everyone is getting frustrated and it can be hard to keep focused sometimes but I guess this is why the guys in the majors get paid the big bucks, because they can keep that focus. In other news, coach says my fielding has improved dramatically. He said minus the heart attack I gave him when I slid to catch a ball, my fielding was solid in this series. I also threw out a runner on his way to third. The improvements in fielding are a good confidence boost when the hitting isn't going so well. I only went 2-8 in this series. The hitting coach says he thinks he might of found a little hitch in my swing and will work on it with me. If I can improve my hitting, I think I can start getting closer to taking my game to the next level. We play Erie at home next, the swept us last time, I'm determined that we don't keep this losing streak going, I'm going to do whatever I can to stop it. Well until next time.

                            God Bless,
