    Long Road To The Show

Starting Pitcher Brandon Olsen was the ace pitcher at his local high school Long Island City High School in New York City. In the City Championship, he got injured and got what is considered the worst injury for a pitcher to get, Tommy John surgery. Now he tries to make his strong recovery and make it to the big leagues. He was signed to the New York Mets AA minor league club, the Binghamton Mets, where he is the #5 pitcher. Realizing the journey is long and treacherous, he will try his best to make it to, THE SHOW.

    OLSEN GREAT THROUGH FIVE

Brandon Olsen made his debut with the AA Binghamton Mets and pitched 5 shutout innings before admitting to shoulder soreness and asking to be taken out. "I pitched my best through 5, I'm hoping against Portland next week I will start again. I'm a Mets fan and the fact that my favorite team signed me is so much more motivation and it's the greatest feeling in the world I've ever had so far, I'm hoping for a better game." Olsen had to comment. He went on to say, "For my first game in the minors since Tommy John surgery it was the best I can do, I'm hoping next time I pitch is even better, I'm hoping to keep my pitch count lower, and get less runners in scoring position."

Olsen is scheduled to pitch against the Portland Sea Dogs this Sunday, 4/15.

      OLSEN CONTINUES TO NICELY

Brandon Olsen continued to show that he deserves to be a starting pitcher
in AA with an impressive showing, considering that he is recovering from Tommy John surgery. Olsen pitched 6 innings with 3 K's and 2 BB's, allowing one run in a 7-1 win.

Olsen was rather rough throughout his post-game interview, "I could've gone another inning, I mean, I know that I shouldn't have allowed a run and regardless of the score, I wasn't happy with the run. Was I happy that I got the win? Absolutely, but there is a reason that we are in AA and nobody is going to improve unless everyone realizes their mistakes. Omar (Quintanilla) had two errors and we can't be having that here, we are here to win, and errors will prevent us from doing just that."

OLSEN HAS BAD OUTING CALLED UP TO AAA
Starting Pitcher Brandon Olsen had the worst outing of his young AA career, yet gets sent up to AAA Buffalo Bisons. "I liked what I saw and I wanted him groomed to enter the MLB hopefully by the end of this season or by the all star break next season, I see potential for him to be an ace with the Mets." New York Mets coach, Terry Collins had to say about the surprising call-up. Brandon Olsen was not found for an interview as he was probably with Collins or already packing for the move. Olsen will most likely make his first appearance from the bullpen in the Rochester series from April 27 to April 30.

        His final AA statistics are:
