RMR: Rocky Mountain Rebuild (MLB 13: The Show)

Hey guys starting a Rockies Dynasty.

I am using my own default sliders as well as an slightly modified version of OSFM Ver. 1

I am terrible at graphics and formatting so it will likely be more in list and story form until I learn to get better.

I'm simulating the first year and playing home games from there on.

After a horrid 2012 finish the Rockies finally decided it was time for a change. The unconventional front office dynamic of Dan O'Dowd and Bill Geivett will finally be put to pasture following several unsuccessful years in a row. The new man tasked with rebuilding the franchise will be Matthew Cox. Cox, who worked as an arbitrator in Pittsburgh and worked closely with the Pittsburgh Pirates for the last four years said simply: "Changes are coming immediately, consider this team to be rebuilding." This begs the question what does this mean for the Rockies? Is any player safe? What will be the future of recently hired manager Walt Weiss? Only time will tell.

New Rockies GM Matt Cox has started his tenure with the Colorado based team with a bang in the form of two blockbuster, franchise shaking deals.

The first deal was with the St. Louis Cardinals, trading franchise star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to the 2011 World Champions for Pitcher Joe Kelly and five prospects. The prospects, all considered withing the top 20 in the Cardinals Organization, are Pitchers Carlos Martinez and Michael Wacha, First Baseman Matt Adams, Second Baseman Kolten Wong, and Outfielder Anthony Garcia.

The second deal was almost as groundbreaking, as Star Outfielder and Perennial 30-30 threat Carlos Gonzalez, affectionately nickname "CarGo" by local fans, was shipped to the Boston Red Sox for three prospects.

This package included Outfield Jackie Bradley Jr. and Pitchers Henry Owens and Allen Webster.

While many Rockies fans will likely cry foul because of trading there favorites, Cox has said: "Rebuilding can be a slow painful process, obviously anytime you trade players of the caliber of Tulo and CarGo eyes will be raised, but it is a necessity for this time to grab prospects until we are ready to compete."

Cox also said he is done dealing for now but won't be afraid to make stingy moves as the season progresses.

A day after two franchise shaking moves the Rockies have a minor announcement: "We are happy to announce that our longtime franchise icon Todd Helton has been named team captain," said GM Matt Cox. The idea behind this is obviously to try to stay connected to the fan base although it remains to be seen if this will pay off.
