    June & July Review

A little bit of a different format for this recap of the months so let me know how you like it. By the end of the month the Reds finished with a record of 37-68 and continued to struggle. Though we were able to offload a few of our players that were not needed to teams that were trying to contend. Though Joey Votto is still hot the rest of the team needs to fight their grove.

Re: Return of the Big Red Machine: Cincinnati Reds Franchise MLB 17 the Show

        Season Review
A season the Reds fanbase will want to forget posting a horrific record of 59-104. The biggest surprise this season was 3B Eugenio Suarez was able to step into the everyday 3rd Baseman spot by playing 155 games. He posted a .254 AVG with 18 HR’s and 78 RBI’s while hitting out of the #2 and 6 hole. As well as the biggest disappointment was P Anthony DeSclafani struggled this season and wasn’t able to certify his spot in the rotation by posting a negative record of 5-12. Anthony looks to hopefully keep his spot this offseason. This offseason the Reds look to add another bat and veteran pitching to help this young staff.

        Transactions

8/31 P Stephen Johnson optioned to Triple-A Louisville and purchased the contract of P Ariel Hernandez and recalled him from Triple-A Louisville
9/10 Recalled OF Arismendy Alcantara, P Stephen Johnson, P Cody Reed, P Amir Garret, P Rookie Davis, P Tim Adleman, 3B Nick Senzel. LF Phillip Ervin, SS Erik Gonzalez and Robert Stephenson from Triple-A Louisville
9/13 P Robert Stephenson added to 60-Day DL with Dislocated Shoulder

          Off-Season Review
This offseason we were able to resign everyone we wanted and even able to add a few key players. We were able to add some starting pitching and the pitchers we signed veteran pitchers that can help guide our young stars. We also went out and got a few bats that will be playing every day for us such as RF Paulo Orlando and LF/3B Trevor Plouffe. This season will will hopefully be able to get our bats going and maybe get a postseason push.

Re: Return of the Big Red Machine: Cincinnati Reds Franchise MLB 17 the Show

This season the Reds look to contend for a wild card spot within a stacked National league. Though for them to have success in that they will have to stay healthy. All-Star Joey Votto will be the center piece as always around this team and he must stay healthy this season. As well as the newly acquired pitching staff must stay healthy and post a good record. The veteran staff that include, Jesse Chavez, Andrew Cashner and Charlie Morton will be able to guide some of the younger guys on the team. As well as free agent signee Trevor Plouffe and Danny Valencia will look to add some veteran presence to the lineup.

              Opening Day
The opening day lineup for The Reds is CF Billy Hamilton, SS Jose Peraza, 1B Joey Votto, 3B Eugenio Suarez, 2B Scooter Gennett, LF Trevor Plouffe, RF Anthony Gose, C Devin Mesoraco and P Jesse Chavez. After only playing one game last season Mesoraco gets to start opening day this year and Plouffe and Chavez will be playing their first game in a Red uniform. The Reds take on the Arizona Diamondbacks who have Zach Greinke on the hill and will be facing former Red Zach Cozart who was traded to the D-Backs last season. A game where Chavez struggled in the beginning of the game he ended up finding his grove after giving up two runs in the second. Greinke on the other hand dominated throughout the game but it was his bullpen who gave up the lost as Hamilton would double and would score a run then Votto would come up with a 2-run blast to deep right. Then Ilgesias would come in and get the save giving Michael Lorenzen the win.

Re: Return of the Big Red Machine: Cincinnati Reds Franchise MLB 17 the Show

Well isn't that just fantastic! My save is saving its corrupt and I cant access it. So I guess this Franchise is over before I even got to start it. So I'm gonna do another team I guess. Its either gonna be the:

-Orioles: a team that is ready to win but is aging just need a few moves but I think could contend pretty easily. So idk about this one.

-Phillies: a team with some exciting prospects that will take a few years to develop into a contending team. Though I think with Franco, Crawford and Alfaro leading this team could be a dangerous team.

-Padres- of course the most difficult one to do. As the only true star they have is Will Myers and maybe pitcher Ryan Butcher. This team def has some youngster that we'll be able to use but how long will it be for them to be better then the Giants, Dodgers, D-Backs and Rockies?

-Twins- a team that is about to, at least I believe, come back to relevance in the postseason. With Gordan, Sano and Buxton starting to get into form and become stars they could push this team to the postseason.

Please lmk what team you guys would like to see and hopefully Saturday I can start it up with the write ups and I wanna do it a little more dynamically instead of just stats. Maybe a monthly review with just highlights of certain players and not the whole stats. So lmk what you guys want and ill see what I can do!
