Our first game against Detroit and more of what's been prevalent so far: the cpu gets plenty of hits and RISP, but can't get 'em in. I do, however, think Meter Pitching is a better choice for Simulation. Strike % is lower and I've thrown 5 walks in the last 2 games. Also, GISP and HBP seems to be a problem as it has been in prior years.

A 4-run first inning was all the Miami Marlins needed for their fourth win of the spring. The 4-14 last place club held us to 3 runs before Tanner Scott closed the game out as he did four games prior. We're now tied 2-2 with the fish for the spring campaign which concludes two weeks from tomorrow.

Shutout for the second straight night, our losing streak goes to three with a 4-0 loss to the Astros. This was the first game of the spring in which we gave up more than 1 homerun in a game. Jose Altuve went yard twice off of a Severino change-up. We're now 2-3 against the Stros with 2 games left against them before the Regular Season.

Fourth straight loss and third consecutive game being shutout as we continue to struggle at the plate. Jose Buto pitched 5 hit-less innings and combined with the bullpen the hold the Cardinals to 3 hits and 2 walks, but a throwing error and a wild pitch lead to our demise.

In what became a homerun derby and our fifth straight loss, the Washington Nationals defeated us 13 to 6. Nine homers in total, 4 for us and 5 for them in a game that probably needed to happen.

Also, Meter Pitching seems to be the way to go as it has brought strike % to be consistently under 70% where as with Pin Point, I was consistently over 70%.

So, we're going to make our first roster move, and it's simply because we don't have a proper Spring Training protocol. I want to try Ji-Man Choi in place of D.J. Stewart for the DH position against RHP. I'm forced to put Stewart (or someone) through Waivers in order to get Choi into the lineup because only 40-man rosters players can participate. Fine whatever, I'll expose Stewart because I'm pretty sure the A.I. won't make any moves in Spring Training. This game isn't a proper sim.

On Stewart, I'm just not getting anything out of him. I'm not sure what it is, whether it's game design or me having some sort of mental bias, but I don't like how it feels when hitting with him. And that's Lefty vs Righty. When facing LHP, it's worse.

Choi did attend real-life NYM Spring Training, but didn't make the big club. He was optioned to AAA, but he has an unusual contract that MLBTS doesn't replicate. He can opt out at certain dates if he chooses.

Another home run derby and another loss. This was our sixth straight loss as we remain on the Schneid and fall to 10-11. There were 8 homers in the game and we tallied for 6 of them, but it wasn't enough for Houston's relentless ability to come back.

Ji-Man Choi played his first game of the Spring going 1-4 with a home run and a strikeout in the DH spot. I gotta say, I like him better than Stewart. We'll see how he does at first in the next game.

With a seventh straight loss, I'm beginning to think we may never win again. Our Hitting can't seem to align with our pitching to put together a few wins, or so has been the case for last 7 games.

Kodai Senga's return may come sooner than was expected. His injury seems to have favored the shorter estimate. He might be able to get into a Spring Training game.

Our new boy Choi went yard again, this time with a bomb that went over 460 feet. It's his second homer in as many games.

Finally, one in the win column. 3 more homeruns and 5-3 win over the Tigers, we were able to end the 3-game road trip on a positive and end the 7 game skid.

Bash Bros II.? Alonso and Choi continue their long-ball streaks. The Polar Bear has homered in 4 straight, and the lefty from Korea, in 3. In fact, Choi has only hit home runs. He's went 1-4 in each of his 3 games, maintaining a .250 average. The Mets, as a team, now have 37 home runs, good for 5th most among all teams.

Pete Alonso keeps his home run streak going in a 2-1 win over the Cardinals. The Polar Bear notched his league leading 10th homer and extended his streak to 5 straight games. Ji-Man Choi, who was following the long-ball trend, didn't put one over the fences, but kept his hitting streak alive with a single. He's now hit in all 4 games he's played.

A lot of bad execution in this one. We were surviving until the Marlins took apart our bull in the 7th. The Alonso home run streak came to an end, and we only struck out 3 Miami batters.

                          Next up are the Yankees!

In our second and final meeting of the Spring, the Yankees evened the head-to-head with a 5-3 win at George M. Steinbrenner Field. 5 runs in the first two innings off of lefty Jose Quintana was all they needed for their 19th win of the spring.

We have 2 games left at Clover Park before Spring Training concludes.

It may be possible that RHP, Kodai Senga, will pitch in the final game against Washington. There is an off day between tomorrows game vs Houston and Monday's final outing, which may give Senga an opportunity to appear.

Ji-Man Choi with a 3-run homer lead us over the Astros for a 5-3 win at Clover Park. It was Choi's 4th home run in only 7 games as he continues to impress with a 1.118 OPS and is likely going to make the big club.

The other choice for a roster spot would be with Mark Vientos and whether or not to keep him and platoon him with Brett Baty. Keeping Vientos means cutting either Trayce Thompson or Tyrone Taylor. Joey Wendle has to stay to provide utility for late inning switches. Vientos is the weakest on paper, but has had some timely hitting that has given me some confidence with him.

One more game to go after a day off. We'll host Washington and then prepare for the regular season.

Going out on sour note with a 6-2 loss to the Nationals, but Kodai Senga did make an appearance. The RHP from Japan pitched an inning giving up 1 run on 2 hits with a strike out. I suppose we have to assume the game accounts for rehab as part of the injury time. I will, however, start Quintana for the opener and put Senga in the 2-spot in the rotation.
