Wojo Once Again Has His Team On Top

It has already been a journey for Coach Wojo. After two years coaching at Winston Salem State he is a third of the way through his first season with the New Orleans Privateers.

Senior SG, Jeremy Johnson is leading the team and the NCAA with 33 points per game. He is 54% from behind the arc so far this season, making him one of the most dangerous shooters in all of basketball.

Not far behind is Freshman center, Preston Murry. While he has struggled at times on the defensive end, he has been a force on the inside. This has allowed the UNO back-court to drive and dish for a very effective offensive attack.

Coupling this with Wojo's hard-nosed man to man defense, the Privateers are one of the favorites amongst the Mid-Majors to make a big run through the NCAA Tournament, assuming they continue their winning ways.

The only downside for the Privateers is that they will be losing Johnson after this season and it has been a difficult recruiting run so far for Wojo. While he is one of the prime 'up and coming' coaches, he has yet to recruit any big name players to either of his programs. If the Privateers don't find anyone to replace Johnson's long range presence, they may have to shift their entire attack to Murry on the inside.

It will be an interesting season as Wojo tries to follow in the footsteps of his mentor at Duke, Coach K.
