Re: ShogunFlow Presents: Charlotte Bobcats in 2k10

In my latest game against the Utah Jazz, Nicolas Batum hits a clutch lay-up as time expired to give the Bobcats a 105-104 victory over the Utah Jazz. Batum has hit many clutch shots so far this season, and continues to show why ShogunFlow is such a great GM.

Tyson Chandler has been a beast so far this season, and is finally hitting his stride this season. He and Raymond Felton have developed a chemistry similar to Chandler's with Chris Paul in New Orleans. The Jazz had no answer for the Felton/Chandler pick and roll game.

    Charlotte Bobcats
Tyson Chandler 28 points, 9 blocks
    Gerald Wallace 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 1 block
Nicolas Batum 11 points (all in 4th quarter), 3 rebounds, 1 block

    Utah Jazz
Ronny Brewer 22 points, 3 assist, 3 steals
Carlos Boozer 20 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists
Deron Williams 12 points, 18 assists, 5 rebounds

    Next 5 Games...

    @ New York Knicks (14-12)
    vs Detroit Pistons (10-16)
    @ Oklahoma City Thunder (12-14)
    vs Milwaukee Bucks (9-16)
    @ Toronto Raptors (11-19)

After these 5 games, I'll be in January 2010, at which point I will give the inside scoop on the entire league, including trades, league leaders etc.

The Bobcats (10-15) meet the Knicks (14-12) in MSG after a thrilling last-second victory over the Utah Jazz. The last time these teams met, Al Harrington had 29 points and 11 rebounds to help the Knicks to a 100-99 victory in Charlotte.

The Knicks started to really shoot the ball well in the second quarter. Larry Hughes and Wilson Chandler found themselves capable of getting open, uncontested jumpshots on the perimeter. The Knicks also won the rebounding battle heavily.

Charlotte began to make a push in the 4th quarter, cutting the lead to a manageable 8 points with 4 minutes left to go in the 4th, but the Knicks prevail in the end, and win 104-91.

Larry Hughes 27 points, 4 assists, 2 steals
Wilson Chandler 20 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals
Nate Robinson 19 points, 10 assist
Eddy Curry 14 points, 11 rebounds (7 offensive)

Gerald Wallace 22 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks
Nicolas Batum 18 points, 5 assist, 3 blocks
Tyson Chandler 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks
Raymond Felton 6 points, 13 assists

The Bobcats (10-16) meet the Pistons (11-16) in the Time Warner Cable Arena. Coming into the game, Tyson Chandler had been a dominating force, and the Bobcats exploited his matchup against the shorter Ben Wallace. The first half was very even between the two teams, both executing the offense in the half-court. The Pistons led at the half 43-39.

In the 3rd quarter, the Bobcats began to pull away from the Pistons, mostly because of the bench. Nicolas Batum led the Bobcats bench mob in scoring, and his play really changed the complexion of the game. Charlotte continued to get important defensive stops, and cruise to a 97-89 victory.

Boris Diaw 21 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists
Nicolas Batum 18 points, 3 assists, 3 blocks
Gerald Wallace 17 points, 3 rebounds
Tyson Chandler 14 points, 17 rebounds, 2 blocks
        56% FG
        0/6 3-point FGs
        9 blocks
        34 rebounds
        34 bench points

Rodney Stuckey 16 points, 6 assists
Charlie Villanueva 13 points, 12 rebounds
Ben Gordon 11 points 4/18 FGs, 6 assists
Tayshaun Prince 12 points, 6 assists

Re: ShogunFlow Presents: Charlotte Bobcats in 2k10

Two young, improving teams met in Oklahoma City to provide a thrilling matchup. The Bobcats (11-16) and the Thunder (13-15) are both slowly improving their rosters. The Thunder moved their backup point guard Shaun Livingston for Grant Hill in hopes that Hill will give them veteran leadership.

Both teams struggled to find consistent offense in the first quarter, but the Bobcats trailed after the first quarter for the 5th consecutive game. The Bobcats have improved on the offensive end, mostly due to their production from the young players on the bench. In the previous game, Batum provided a spark on offense, but in this game, it was Jeff Pendergraph. In just 13 minutes of action, Pendergraph put up 12 points and 4 rebounds. This helped Charlotte outscore OKC by 8 in the second, winning at the half 46-42.

Pendergraph's college teammate James Harden paced the Thunder. He and Durant combined for 56 points, however the Thunder fell behind if either Harden or Durant weren't scoring well. Etan Thomas was the only other Thunder in double figures.

Meanwhile, Boris Diaw and Tyson Chandler carried the offensive load in the 4th quarter. Free throws were a problem for the Bobcats in the previous game, but they only missed 3 free throws all night. The Bobcats hang on to win 102-98.

Boris Diaw 24 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists
Tyson Chandler 22 points, 13 rebounds
Raymond Felton 15 points, 11 assists
Gerald Wallace 13 points, 6 rebounds

James Harden 31 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists
Kevin Durant 25 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists
Etan Thomas 10 points, 5 rebounds

The new-look Bucks meet the new-look Bobcats in the Time Warner Cable Arena. Through a myriad of trades, the Milwaukee Bucks acquired G Lou Williams from Philadelphia, who may prove to be a valuable asset.

Williams helped his Bucks jump out to a 10-point lead to end the first quarter. Michael Redd helped the Bucks force the Bobcats to play catchup for the whole game.

The Bobcats got another great performance out of their bench to help them stay close throughout the game. Nicolas Batum had a team-high 24 points, and Jeff Pendergraph is continuing to gain the respect of his coaching staff. In just 14 minutes, Pendergraph posted 11 points and 5 rebounds.

In the end, the Bobcats didn't have enough offense to keep up with the Bucks, and lose 111-105.

Nicolas Batum 24 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists
Tyson Chandler 20 points, 12 rebounds
Gerald Wallace 18 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals

Lou Williams 23 points, 9 assists, 4 steals
Michael Redd 23 points, 6 assists
Hakim Warrick 18 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals
Andrew Bogut 16 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks

              Raptors Win In OT Thriller

The struggling Toronto Raptors (12-20) host the improving Charlotte Bobcats (12-17) in Toronto. The two teams played almost evenly for the entire first half, Bobcats led 50-49.

The offense began to pick up in the second half, mostly due to another outstanding performance by the Bobcats bench. Jeff Pendergraph's minutes continue to increase, as he is a vital part of the scoring from the bench. He finished with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 1 block.

The Raptors jumped out to a 6 point lead to begin the 4th, and maintained that lead for the majority of the 4th quarter. Nicolas Batum and Tyson Chandler locked up defensively and sparked a rally for the Bobcats. Batum hit a game-tying lay-up as time expired to force an overtime period.

The two teams went back in the forth in the OT period, but the Bobcats were given 3 opportunities to win the game. After two missed layups and point blank range with time running out, Raymond Felton swooped in to grab the rebound and kick it out to a wide open Gerald Wallace for the last shot of the game. Wallace's shot rimmed out and the Toronto Raptors held on to win in overtime, 108-107.

              Tyson Chandler 26 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks
Raymond Felton 17 points, 14 assists, 3 steals
Boris Diaw 16 points, 4 rebounds
Nicolas Batum 12 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks
Gerald Wallace 12 points, 7 rebounds

Andrea Bargnani 18 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists
Marco Belinelli 18 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists
Chris Bosh 15 points, 17 rebounds

Bobcats Too Much For Heat, Get Road Victory

The Bobcats travel to South Beach to run with the division-leading Miami Heat. This game provided loads of offense from each team. Once again, the difference for the Bobcats was the play of their bench. Before trading for Nicolas Batum and Jeff Pendergraph, the Bobcats often experienced dry spells of offense, which would in turn cost them basketball games.

In just 17 minutes of action, Nicolas Batum racked up 17 points, and help Charlotte win the 3rd-quarter by 12. The onslaught continued in the 4th-quarter, in which the Bobcats won by 7. In the end, the Bobcats' offense seemed unstoppable for the Heat. Bobcats win in a rout, 111-95.

Boris Diaw 28 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists
Nicolas Batum 27 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals
Tyson Chandler 22 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists
Raymond Felton 7 points, 15 assists

Michael Beasley 27 points, 10 rebounds
Dwyane Wade 21 points, 10 assists
                Jermaine O'Neal 19 points, 17 rebounds, 3 blocks
