"I Create Destiny" A John Williams Chise

Maybe you believe in luck, karma, or a higher power. Call it whatever you want, but I never believed in luck. Untill this very day. Little would I know that these 5 minutes, would change the rest of my life. Maybe...

Coach McDonald: You people think you understand me? You people think you know me!? You will never know me...

Player #1: Wait Coach, I think what you mean is...

    Coach McDonald: Shut Up!

Coach McDonald: You know nothing of the life i've lived but yet you all sit back and criticize me, you judge me. You speak of me as if you actually know how it feels to walk a mile in my shoes. What gives you the right? What makes you all so special? Nothing! You want to understand me? You want to feel my pain? Huh? DO YOU! Do you want to see into my soul Look at this pain, look at this torment, why must you do this? After what you've put me through all these years, Why can't you just leave it alone? But no.. you can't leave well enough alone.

Coach McDonald: And Hollans, you're a sorry excuse for a human being. Howver, I have kissed up to you, hell I even put you on the team to make your Dad happy. You know what made my Dad happy when I was your age. Nothing he was dead! Anyway, I'm probly going to get fired after this so I might as well say it now. I could yell and yell at you Hollans for what you did. But it really doesn't matter. Does it? Because this is the last time I let this go. Yeah sure I have turned my head the other way before, but not again. In China , if you're caught stealing, they cut off your hands. In Indonesia , if you're caught running from the police, they cut off your feet. In Thailand , if you're caught lying, they cut out your tongue.

Player #2: What does that have to do with...

Coach McDonald: You know what Hollans I bet any "joe" in this school could play better basketball that you. You peace of crap.

And just like that I walked in. I had left my favorite pen next to my locker, and I had to get it or else I wouldn't be lucky anymore [duh].

Coach McDonald: Hey you.. you... YOU!

    Me: You mean me?

Coach McDonald: Yes numb nuts. Who did you think I was talking to? I was wondering would you like joining the basketball team? Hollins is out all year with a concussion.

Hollans: What are you talking about I'm...

Just then Coach McDonald [with all his might] shoves Hollans' head right into the locker.

Me: No thanks, I just came back for my lucky pen.

Coach McDonald: Great be back hear for practice on Thursday.

Re: "I Create Destiny" A John Williams Chise

Ok before I get any farther, let me just write down the basic information for the league I'm in. Luckly I had this planned out a couple weeks ago, so I didn't have to write all this today. And to the guy that commented [I'm right now posting a new reply, I can't see your username, and I'm to lazy to edit] thanks. I'm new at this and every comment is huge. I didn't expect to get a comment that early, so thank you :].

    09-10 Preview With Jay Grayhare

Once again last year, the western basketball championship series, proved once again, that's it's the best basketball league in the east coast, and maybe even in the United States. There were storylines, fights, and of course great action. Winning the championship means everything to these teams, and anything other than winning the hardware, is an utter disappointment. Unless, your the X-Factors. Ok, I'll stop with the cheap shots, on them I promise X-Factor fans. Once again this year we saw the Hamburg Lightning, choke in the championship. This year to the Orchard Park Emeralds. It would be amazing to think about how many titles they would have, if only they could close out the season. But hey, I'm a sucker for dynasties. And we haven't seen one since the 1996-2001 Jamestown Demolition. And even they lost 4/6 times they made it to the championship. But of course, this isn't the 08-09 western New York basketball championship review, no it's the 2009-2010 Western New York Basketball preview.

    Blazedale Cows
    08-09 Season: 6-3, Final 4

The cows have had a hard off-season losing key players in point guard Tony Wendel, and small forward, Nathan Nowitski. They didn't really gain any players either. With the amount of players this team has lost over the last two years, and with the lack of good players coming over from the middle school, don't expect this team to make it to the championship for a while.

    Dunkirk Kings
    08-09 Season: 2-7, No Playoffs

If I could go back in history of western New York basketball and change one thing, it would be the Kings winning the 1991 championship. This team is badly run, and badly coached. The only reason I don't make fun of them, is because the Kings have a championship. But at least in the last couple of years, the x-factors have been able to pull together some decent seasons. You want to know the last time the Kings had a winning season? 2002-2003. That's sad with new players coming in every year. This team is so bad, players’ transfer, so they won't have to play for the Kings. Eh, if only I could go back in history.

    East Arora Quakers
    08-09 Season: 0-9, No Playoffs

I like the East Arora Quakers. They have a great school, and they try really hard to make their basketball team better. Unlike some other schools. But sadly, they haven't done much in the last couple of years. They use a very slow pasted [is that a word?] offense, to try and help them win games. Sadly, when it takes the appoint 10 seconds to score, and when you have no players that can shoot the ball. The win loss column doesn't look to pretty.

    Eden Lions
    08-09 Season: 4-5, No Playoffs

Wow did the Eden Lions, gain a lot of great players in a weak 09-10 rookie class. They gained great wingman Joe Miller, 3 Point Ace Antonio Miller [yes they are brothers], and a great double-double power forward in Brad McKinnon. This is a team to look out for in the 08-09 season. The only thing I could see hurting this team, is there school. The school is far more interested in academitcs, and couldn't care less about the basketball team. Plus have you seen there arena?

Oh, the good old Hamburg Lightning. It seems like I write the same title every year. Hamburg Lightning, the odds on favorite to win the championship, choke yet again in the final. There worse than the Dallas Cowboys. I mean they were favored 4 to 1 again the Orchard Park Emeralds, and they lose in 2 games! Oh course they dominated in the first round. But in the finals, they can never end it. I can understand choking once, maybe twice, but 4 times in 5 appearances. No, that's not good enough. Than again it's better to be great, and choke than be the X-Factors. Their off season was crazy. They lost a great player in Louis Bens [player of the year in 2006, and 2008], and lost a great hustler and motivator in Dunk Forgitou. But they also gained possibly a future mega star in Jerry Franmer. It will be interesting to see how Franmer progresses, and how the Lightning do in the 2009-2010 season.

    Inglewood Warriors
    08-09 Season: 3-7, No Playoffs

Not much to say about the Inglewood Warriors. They had five good years ago, a while back. And since then haven't really done much. Sadly, with the lack of good rookies coming in this year, it doesn't seem like there getting much help. That was untill they got Nathan Fowler, from the Dunkirk Kings. This player was known as the player who single handidly, led the Dunkirk Kings [middle school] to the championship game last year. He doesn't have the size or strength that most players do, something he can get away with at the high school level. But not here. So maybe he won't turn the team around into a playoff team, but they should content for a spot. Food for Thought: Their coaches' name is, Larry Worder.

    Jamestown Demolition
    08-09 Season: 2-7, No Playoffs

Ever since the [sadly] famous brawl, during a game in the 05-06 season, players have been afraid to go to Jamestown. Honestly I don't blame them. That school is unsafe. They didn't lose anyone important and actually gained two average players. Average players for demolition equals, two of demolition's top players.

    Orchard Park Emeralds
    08-09 Season: 7-2, Champions

Last years defending champions. And for good reason. The Emeralds have a phenomenal point guard, in Maximus Farenheit. A player who is probly better under the rim, then above it. They also have a giant [6'9] in Cail Hornway. Sadly he can't move or shoot. But he is great at rebounding and he doesn't allow the other team to shoot in the paint... usually.

    Watertown X-Factors
    08-09 Season: 7-2, Final 4

I have to admit. I feel bad for hating on the x-factors. They have been getting better slowly but surly over the last couple of years. The problem is, they have only made it to one championship game, and lost in it. I do have a deep down, dark secret though. I cheared for them in the 2008-2009 playoffs. I wanted them to win the championship, so I could start making fun of the Kings, full time. When looking at their record last year, and then their roster. I was very surprised, with how good they were in the regular season. They have a lot of good players, but no great players. They lost one of there good players point guard George Tab, but gained [another good player] point guard John Eggleston. Other than that. They also gained, yes say it with me another good player in Center, Willie Tyrell. Tyrell is a great rebounder and should give the X-Factors, more possessions.

    Weseneca Coyotes
    08-09 Season: 6-3, No Playoffs

The Weseneca Coyotes are the Phoenix Suns on the WNBL. There are a 7 second offense. But unlike the Suns of real life, they can actually player defense, really good. The problum with the run and gun offense, and high school basketball players, is that a lot of the players, shot WAY too much. Thinking they fit in with the offense. And let me tell you, they didn't. Weseneca's coach, I believe the creator of the run and gun offense, has now retired from teaching [and coaching for that madder] so it's looks like the run and gun offense is no more. In the off season the Coyotes lost two really good players in Ernie Callaway and Gregory Johnson. And they never gained back any good player to make up for them. Luckily, the bad teams in the WNBL, as so bad right now, they still might be in contention and maybe even make the playoffs. They would really like that, seeing they just missed it last year.
