Over the past week, there have been major changes in College Sports. The Big East is now two conferences. The Pac-10 becomes the Pac-16. Nebraska joins the Big 10. The Big 12 disbands. Let's recap the changes, which have left many fans in a state of shock.
BIG EAST ANNOUNCES SPLIT:
It was speculated to happen someday, and that day is now. The football schools of the Big East have announced they will no longer play basketball with the basketball-only schools. They have left to form their own conference, The Eastern 10 conference. Wait. There are only 8 schools. Well then, they must of invited two other schools. Wait only one? They only invited one? Then how will they... Ahh yes, then there was Notre Dame, who threatened to leave if there was a split. Well the weakened Big East can invite teams too. They responded by adding Dayton, St. Louis, Charlotte and Massachusetts.
PAC-10 BECOMES PAC-16
They added Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Utah, and Colorado, to boost them to the biggest conference in college sports.
NEBRASKA JOINS THE BIG TEN, FORCING THE BIG 12 TO DISBAND
The Big 10 sealed the fate of the Big 12 by adding Nebraska.
